Find any good macro-invertebrates?Was a couple of gorgeous days, bet the folks who have to be stuck at a job all week enjoyed the heck out of it. I spent the day today doing insect sampling on the local river.
Wish I had read through that a little better yesterday. They had Terry Lind Land at the GVSU homecoming game yesterday, along with a few other west side GR area candidates out to press the fresh there. Probably wouldn't have all that great of an idea to really talk to her as I was already about 3 beers in and there may or may not have been some Jagerbombs there as well. God I miss College. This may be a tad political in nature but it certainly is not partisan. I think that it is more educational than anything.
We are only a few weeks away from an election and voters should be educated when they cast their ballot.
I hope I am not stepping on any toes with this post.

yeah, it was just a freak thing to happen. odds are he had just laid down in his stall for a while, and when he went to get up, it popped and gave out on him, and that's what tore everything open.So sorry about the horse! I think they are accidents waiting to happen/ suicidal. What an awful day. Mary
Quote: Sure did....6 teams at 6 sites found probably 10-15 different species within an hour or so. Team leaders with extensive experience identified more varieties than the MiCORE protocol had categorized for counts. Overall water quality ranked above average according to our data entered into the protocol report forms.
This pic from the Two Rivers Coalition FB page:
"Stonefly larvae are very sensitive to diminished water quality so finding these at several sites is a good thing."

Such a beautiful day out there today. All things considered, I would rather be watching the football games. Since I cut the cable last winter I have lots of time for chores.
It's a perfect day for moving firewood. I probably haven't moved as much as Robo-Opa but I have moved several face cord up under the patio cover.
One thing I have noticed is that there is no sign of mice in the wood. I'm giving credit to the parakeets for being good mousers. Most of the firewood is stored in the aviary.
That is all for now, back outside to build another rack and stack some more wood. There is something of a Zen-like quality to stacking firewood.
I rarely eat deserts or sweets. Never had a sweet tooth, so the diagnosis really threw me. No family history of it either.
