So sad, Raz...just lost our matriarch cat on Sunday. Even when you know it's coming, it's sad.

On another note..on FB this has become known as my "Cock In A Box"...got this Amerucana rooster shipped from Ohio....he's beautiful! Now on the hunt for a Amerucana girlfriend or two for him. I do have some pretty EE's he'll have once he gets through QT. He's a September baby...

Hip Hip Hoorrrrraaaaaayyyyy!!! Wilma the Welsumer's back in lay!!
After 10 weeks off with a molt.
This bodes well, I hope, for my incubation plans next month.
Color's not good, but might get better with subsequent eggs.
7-9 months wait to see if Woody has some nice egg color genes to donate for darker eggs.

Looks like a couple of the old girls(3yo) have donated a few in the past week too....sure sign that spring's on it's way.....and broody is doing well also, ~10 days to go!

Woody and Wilma last summer at about 13 weeks old.

That's funny. My welsummer is also named Wilma and she just started laying a few days ago after a 2+ month break.
Lucy has been giving me a nice blue/green egg every other day and the other girls are ramping up the production.

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been gone so long! Apparently working full time, doing another masters degree, doing two cohorts with the state, and trying to manage chickens doesn't leave much room for socializing about chickens. I've missed everyone and welcome to the new faces!

If anyone is interested, I do have some Jill Rees line Legbar cockerels for sale. I don't have pictures yet, but will be getting some soon.
