Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I'm all confused and confounded by this thread now. In the past two years my heart has been broken and fixed two different times. My life has been really disrupted to the point of being unable to perform even simple tasks, like making posts here. I have from time to time been able to read some, but missed several thousand posts and the closing and reopening of the site. Just discovered that. I have missed the chicken chatter. Hope to be able to keep up better in future. Thanks for being. Bob.
Wow tough two years. Welcome back. I know I left for a long time but for totally different reasons. So I know about the confusion of getting back into this thread. One minute everyone is talking about goats then Bees then health but always coming back to chickens. I think that is part of the beauty of this group.

Does anyone in Michigan breed Delawares or New Hampshires? I'd like to get some of each for my starter flock, but they aren't easy to find outside the big hatcheries.

PM Hillbilly Hen (Laura). She may know someone. When she shut down her flocks I took some heritage German New Hampshires. She got them from someone on this site and gave some away to someone else on this site (or used to be anyway). I ended up selling my breeding pair when my chicken math got the better of me.

Bob, the last time I heard from you was just before CS last year. Hope you can make it this year, check out the thread by RaZ. Hope all is well and really nothing much has changed on here in years except losing and gaining folks that post.

So sorry to hear that you are having health problems!! I sure do hope you are on the mend.
Many posters have gone to the wayside, but many have joined us. RaZ can't seem to stay out of trouble, but the rest of us are behaving... kind of!
Welcome back!
I have not been in trouble for many months now. I haven't been arrested since October.
I have reported on issues of importance and it looks like I could have a position on the Animal Care GAAMP committee.
So I could be getting into trouble soon.

Let us know if we can do anything to help. I'm sure we can figure something out.

We do tend to jump around on topics. But this is a social thread and gossip, news, rumour and innuendo are all parts of our hen party. No one has ever been publicly shunned or excluded that I know of. Although I came close when I said that I didn't like lilacs.

Woohoo! One of the 2 EE pullets that Maia hatched last Mother's Day laid her first egg today!!! Now if her sister would...and my Ameraucana pullet.

Went out to freshen up water & everyone decided the were sick of being cooped up, so basically formed a line & headed down the shoveled pathway to the front porch & deck. They didn't stay out long and everyone but Lacey went in. I could tell she was looking for somewhere to lay an egg. So I just left her alone..sure enough, she came back up on deck, I looked under the deck in a corner & could see a cute little green egg..

Today's haul so far..Lacey's in the middle (nice size pullet egg, too)
