Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

"Assorted Pullets."  From TSC.  I will not be purchasing thru them again.  New to Chick Days and many things chicken related, I thought Chick Days would be a bigger deal, that there would be many bins of carefully organized chicks to choose from.  I was wrong.  There were four bins-and one of the bins offered not chicks, but ducklings!  Well, OK, I think to myself.  Do You want chickens or not?  (Hint:  "Yes.")  So I took the plunge.  The nice TSC employee who answered over the phone said that they were getting Sussex, Delawares, and Isa Browns.  My chicks look like...well, hang on & i'll get some pictures.  I call them Blondie, Blondie, Blondie, Red, Buttmuncher, and Stripes.

Just for heads up. TSC is just getting started with chick days. And in another week or so. It will be huge deal once the public realize the babies have arrived. And then next thing ya know. There will be answers and questions all over the chick area and lots of folks and employees have all sorts of conversations. It becomes a huge thing at my store and chicks being loaded into boxs left and right while hooking new owners up with everything they need.
And the duckies... oh man do those sell themselves. Come on... they sure are cute playing in their water and sprawled out under the lamp watching you watching them and ya talk to them in cutesy voices. Lol.

I walked away saying, no ducklings, no ducklings no ducklings when I went in for supplies the other day. LOL Ours just had those, leghorns and meat birds to start.

Glad to hear that!

sponge and a fan on hi
A fan would much safer than cat litter, which is clay and just makes a big mess when it gets wet.

Ha. Serves me right for not wanting to be the bossy ignorant customer peppering employees with silly questions. Now my girls are assorted. I just hope they're good Michigan cold hardy breeds. And female.

And yes, the duckies were cute beyond reason. My friend discovered that she has the ability to call them.

Good luck to whatswhosface with water woes. Birdman's sponge and fan system sounds "Logical," as a certain Mr. Spock would say.
