Click the "multi" button on all posts you want and then on the last one you want to quote hit the quote button and they will all be down there waiting for your reply in the message box...hope that makes sense. At least thats how i do it, there may be an easier way."yeah they will run a back ground check and you will have to fill out some paper work it may take about 15-45 minutes depending on the guy doing it....how ever if you can find .22 ammo you are some kind of miracle worker....that stuff is about as hard as gold to find round here.....I buy it when ever I find a box on the shelf...Walmart sells them pretty cheep cheep....
Unless you buy from a private individual, a background check will always be run. It is incredibly quick, the shop selling the gun just makes a phone call to make sure you're not a felon or whatever. They do it while you wait.
.22 ammunition is expensive and in short supply, though. You used to be able to walk out of a store with a brick of the stuff for not much. Now finding a simple box of 100 rounds is tricky. Most places are sold out. Manufacturers are not making enough of the ammunition to fill the demand for it. And you cannot reload .22 ammo. I'm rationing the stuff I have."
Can't figure out the double quote thing, so went manual.
Is there a next step up that is easier to get ammo? I am not a felon tho' they did pick me out of all the people at my son's graduation from basic training at the naval base to check for weaponsIt was a random check and I think the guy was in training and thought I would be kind about it LOL!
Where are you located?
Only if it's a pistol will you need a permit (at present time). .22 ammo is hard to come by these days also. It's obtainable but hoarders are buying it up and ripping off good folks by re-selling at outrageous prices. Talk to a well established gun store about options (not Walmart, or other department type stores).Hey all, do you need to get a permit to get a 22 in MI? I had to dispatch a possum (I usually trap but my trap was occupied by a feral cat that is at a rescue right now to get neutered) and I did not like killing it by hand. Won't go into details but it was trying to get into my chickens with the light on in the barn and me and my dog going in and out of the barn. I felt awful but that one was not going to be relocated if it was so fearless. I decided I needed something just in case I need to put an animal out of it's misery.
Quote: Hmmmmmm...I have a couple boxes of 500 that I bought years ago...but I'd only go semi outrageous
JK...... but glad I have it, don't shoot often anyway, just some critter plinking out the back window if necessary.
Actually the pistol has to be registered with the State. If you buy from a licensed dealer they will help you with this process. Depending on where you live will determine who you go through. It's not a big deal if you have a clean record. I've always thought it was funny that pistols, but not long rifles, or shotguns, have to be registered. With the current climate I'm sure it won't be long before that happens. I'd stick with a rifle for ease of purchase. Or go full tilt and get a .40 Sig and a CCL. That'll teach those pesky coons, and that Ermine that Taprock caught!I thought they got rid of the purchase permits for pistols (if you buy from ffl dealers). Did it change again?
