Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

That agreement gives BACKYARD CHICKENS permission to use the photos that users upload. NOT the users of Backyard Chickens to use other members photos. Meaning the website could incorporate my pictures into their banner and it would be just fine, I agreed to that. But a BYC user could not steal my photo to use as a banner on their website.
i agree completely with you and i think it is wrong what some people do....however people get away with it...and make money while doing it...it is america... and unless you have a 50k to 100k to go to court over it....then it is useless...trust me i have been there and done that...unless your filthy rich...then you wont be able to prosecute the person doing this.....and any other questions

i understand what copyright laws are but they are diffused when you go to a community forum like this and post when it clearly states that you understand your not submitting any copyrighted materials...not to press the issue..but it was u that put it here....and are having problems...i understand your dilemma...just dont bring it down on me like its my fault or i need to refresh when it clearly states in the rules whats what....and what to put out for a picture...people dont understand that a site like this can take your stuff and put it out there...because you hit the submit button...so be easy on the accusations on what i need to do...i have law enforcement background and understand fully...but when you submit something and they flat out say...

By selecting Submit, below, I agree to these terms:
I am not uploading any copyrighted or offensive material.
that being said anything you post can be used....because they have specifically said what they said...if your are mad take it up with the mods not me...cause i dont make the rules i was just clearly pointing out something...you used your copyrighted material on something that specifically says i am not uploading any copyrighted materials or offensive materials....someone stole it used it and no need to take it out on me...when i said i understand your frustrations...so i dont need to get familiar with the copyright laws...have a wonderful day
That is in reference to not uploading someone else's copyrighted work...not your own.

i shall call the doa for you in indiana and see how the process goes...and im sure if you had them tested you would be able to post what types and forms they were tested for...as its good to cover yourself in this lovely world

see i spent close to two hundred dollars to import two female birds....and they came with the forms needed in michigan vs 9-2 which is the health certificate of the flock and the vs9-3 paperwork on where they were going.....and these were 25 dollar birds...so unless you plan on spending a bunch of money to get them legally...or exporting them legally....then what more is there to discuss...people take chances that arent willing to pay and most get away with it...does it make it right....and then we wonder why all this disease is spreading from one state to the next..
The only form required for Import to Indiana is a VS 9-3....a VS 9-2 is for flock certification and is not required....VS 9-3 can also be replaced with a single Pullorum test aka Health Certificate done by a vet....you can import/export on any ONE of those forms. VS 9-3 or Health Certificate

A VS 9-3 should be free if you are buying from a NPIP flock as the seller gets these forms for free from the NPIP program and fills them out themselves. A VS 9-2 costs $25 when the form is mailed in to get your flock certified with NPIP as Pullorum Negitive...so if you paid $25 for the birds to get a VS 9-2 form someone either misunderstood how the program works or wanted some more money....you can not send a VS 9-2 form with a shipment of birds and then have the new buyer send the form in to certify the flock or even just the new birds...the flock must be tested on sight without new birds being introduced or the VS 9-2 form is null and void.

Also NPIP Certified Inspectors are only certified for their state...so if you have a VS 9-2 form from an inspector from another state michigan will not accept it. You are also not allowed to certify your flock in another state.

so someone that is not certified can have access to these documents...and be able to sell to another state legally...highly doubtful that is the reason of the volunteer program and the documents that follow them

im glad it worked out for you....im hesitant on posting pics on byc anymore because of what my attorney has told me...thats all...and some people are finding out the not so nice way by people stealing their pics...all because of a submit button you click...dont mean to be confrontational just mean to be real...and in america it is better to be blunt and real then beat around the bush...i dont want things to happen to people that have already happened to me...just saying...im glad you got this issue resolved...but please dont put someone in the hot seat as some may take it personal...

i would disagree....once submitting the picture to byc and there agreements when you hit submit...but im not a judge...only law enforcement background....and unless you have a lawyer that you dropped 5k on and are willing to waist your time in the courts...which will cost you more money...then you......******.....so to speak...and most people on here use copyrighted material and dont care and they dont get in trouble...like i said unless you wanna start a claim with your attorney....then pfffff....its done....and thats about it....all good things come to an end and welcome to america....

sorry i cant get a hold of the import guy right now he is on lunch...but i shall let you know what is said....as i would like to know for myself incase i do business with indiana sometime soon....lovely how we go from birds to goats...listen i dont care what you do with you flock...but its not a good idea to put me on the spot acting like i had anything to do with the person taking your photos when all i did was pointed out that once you submit a picture to byc they have all rights and once they put the pic out there anyone can take it......thats all bottom line...if need be...we can do this all day long....and well youll figure it out on whom you should step toes on...all they have to do is subpena the records of this conversation and then ask for your documents....and well im sure you understand at this point what would happen next....
This is a quick link for state requirements:
http://www.guineafowl.com/GeneralStore/regulations.htm

You can export to any state with nothing but a VS 9-3 or a pullorum negitive certificate or similar vet form....except a few like virginia, new hampshire(over 20weeks old) , and pennsylvania who also require AI testing.

Aye, I'm sorry for getting all huffy and defensive. I try to keep a cool head, I failed today. Maybe I need to go drink a pint when I go into town and that'll make it all better.

Which reminds me, Happy Saint Patrick's Day everyone!

No, only a certified flock or Certified tester would have access to the documents...a certified flock has access to the VS 9-3.....a certified tester has access to VS 9-2 only unless they have certified their own flock and then they also have access to a VS 9-3.

I just read through the last few pages and I think this was the best post of them all - drink a pint and Happy Saint Patrick's Day everyone! I posted on FB: If I catch you not wearing green I'm going to pinch you and Happy wear green stuff day!: Maybe my quotes a little off, lol! I wish I was in da UP and I'd swing by and toss back a few pints with you!
