Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi Homestead and Lahti, welcome to BYC and the Michigan thread

Sugaring is probably over downstate for this year, you should be able to tell a lot more about your trees once they leaf out.

Thinking of Raz too

Hi Farmerboy - Wow! Triple yolker?

Welcome to all the new people! I hope you find BYC a great place to connect and a great source of information!

Hi Farmerboy - Wow! Triple yolker?
Nope, the sap is running strong near Muskegon. I bet it will end by next week though as the temps are supposed to be up around 50.

Just saw a post from Raz on FB, he's home, feeling good, taking a nap.

Yes I am home. I had to take a nap right after eating a bit of lunch. Everything went well. They did find a bit of blockage in one minor artery to the heart. But since they are going to replace the aorta and vavle, they will probably fix that too.

Next step is to send the results to the specialist and make an appointment for the open heart.

The only thing that has really concerned me is finding someone to help care for my animals when I go to hospital.

Changed the sap jugs early this morning and I have about a third of a gallon in each one. 5 gallons on the counter that I should start boiling down.

Welcome new folks. Look forward to learning more about you and your flocks.

Birdman I'm envious!

Raz glad things went well. I hope you find someone to help out.

This week's hatch went great at the library. Seven chicks hatched, sadly one didn't make it but it was a good learning experience for the kids. I had Pre-K through 6th grades all come over to see and ask questions. I'm told the school was abuzz with "chick" talk. My boss has decided we need to do it again next year with a Peep Cam to link the incubator view to our website. Next week the chicks go back for three days and kids get to submit names to be considered. I have a feeling I'm going to have a hard time deciding.

On a whiny note, I wish the snow would just stop!

Thanks for your good wishes. I'm glad to have you folks as friends.

It was a good thing that I changes the sap jugs this morning. I'm getting a good flow today. Should have another 3 gallons today to add to the 5 gallons on the counter. I should be boiling this weekend.

I'm glad you're home! Sorry to hear that the procedure will be so intensive. I am sending positive thoughts your way!
