Townline might not be listing chicks that go to stores...only those available to ship or pick up.
Best bet is to call the TSC you're interested in buying from and ask where they are getting their chicks....
.....and maybe what they are getting.
Tho I tried asking in the store last year and 'corporate' seems to be in control and the (very frustrated) employees at the stores are as much in the dark as we are.

I did a quick search after posting and it seems that Mt. Healthy in Ohio had a salmonella outbreak last year, and they carry all the breeds I typically saw in TSC. I have never heard the stores say that they know what kinds of chicks they are getting.....they just arrive and they get what they get.

I'm sprouting wheat for my 30 chickens. I've been guessing at how much per day to soak. Anyone know how many cups or pounds to start with.

I do a quarter cup to sprout in about a 7x7 pan.
Lay out a single layer of dry seed in whatever you're going to sprout in, then measure it...that's what I did.

Does anyone know what hatcheries TSC supplies from?  I know they use Townline for some stuff, but I know that they use another one too.....According to their webpage, the TSC in Cadillac is getting chicks a week before the ones that are closest to me.....but if you look at the "what's hatching" page on townline, they only have TURKEYS listed for hatching the week Cadillac gets chicks.  (I also know that breed variety was SEVERELY down at the tractor supplies near us last year and one of the employees said something about one the the source hatcheries failing a salmonella test or something.....who knows if that's true, but I also know that basically all either of the stores by us had last year were rocks, reds, and cornish X) I'm also seeing that townline doesn't list welsummers on their website this year.

I work at tsc in lapeer and most of Michigans birds are from Townline as well as family farm and homes.
My step brother runs the ffh up there so.

Life never seems to go the way you think it will. All we can do is accept it as it comes and be grateful. Today I was contemplating euthanizing my remaining birds. While visiting my old farmer at the rehab center I received a call from some folks that wanted them.

I felt a little down as I caught and caged them for transport. A daily and enjoyable phase of my life is ending. However, when I dropped the birds off a few hours later my mood brightened. I now longer have the time to care for the flock and the people who took them are absolutely thrilled. Their excitement more than erased what little sadness I had.

LOL, for some reason I started reading posts from 2012 and thought they were today's. Fuzzy was talking about something but then again she's been MIA for quite a while. Then I realized after reading a few other posts where in time I was...oh boy...headed to the ortho surgeon today as my mid-30's son ruptured his Achilles Tendon playing indoor soccer. Surgery followed by who-knows how long rehab. Should be a nice day in the GR area!
