Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I saw a post from John today. He is home now. He is itching to get outside for chores. Not a good idea right now but he has always been a machine when it comes to chores.

He has had a major surgery to recover from. It's not my place to comment on what it was. I'll leave that up to him. It seems like he is in good spirits.

Another friend is also recovering from a major surgery. Randy is a co-founder and board member of the MSFC. A hard working small farmer from the UP who won his RTF case. He just joined the zipper club with open-heart surgery. He hopes to be released on Sunday.

I'm thinking there is a common trait among people who keep chickens. A great sense of humour and an overall good attitude.

I forgot to mention that I had an opossum in the coop when I got home last night. One of the young ones. He was curled up asleep on the roost with several of the chickens. I had to pat him on the butt to get him to go out. He seems about half tame. I wonder if I can tame him even further. A pet 'possum would be cool.

Randy, just stick with chickens in the coop! Opossums really aren't your friends...
Mary
I can make him his own little shelter. ;)
I find it rather interesting that he was sleeping right next to the chickens last night. He didn't even bother the 2 eggs that were in the next box. Still, I know that he should not be there. I'll figure something out if he keeps hanging around.

Wouldn't be the first possum to be tamed. I had a possum that would curl up in the feral cat house I have.
Chickens are enjoying the turkey carcass. Rescue chicken is in the coop with the flock and survived the first day. She hated being in the brooder in the basement and hated to be put in the cage in the coop. But, she loved eating wet cat food with my two cats. She would follow the cats around all over. Cute.
