Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

The box was addressed to the Perry post office, and landed in Owosso, the next town north. They called me, and i went to get them, all fine. This happened a couple of years ago too, same outcome.
Otherwise, they would have gone back to Grand Rapids, and then to Perry. :he
Very few people at the post office, nobody but me wearing a face mask!

Hi John. How are you doing? Good to hear about Farmerboy. Such a nice young man. Staying home. Did a errand yesterday. The nursing home I volunteer at (put on hold) needed face masks. Located some and dropped them off. No contact with anyone. Neighbor was looking for a face shield. Located one, and dropped it off. That's as much as I've been out. Well, hubby actually picked up the face shield and dropped it off. Kids have been shopping for us and dropping off meals for us.
Hope all are doing well. Stay home. Stay safe. We'll get through this.

Well look at that. I just got a 9 year badge today. I lurked for a good year or so before I joined. Has it really been a decade already? The time has just zoomed by. So many nice people met here. And several Chicken Stocks attended. And sadly a number of friends no longer on the thread. Anyway, on to chicken matters.

The breach in the run has been located and a temporary mending job done today. Of course it was a day too late. One of the hens got too close to where Devil Dog was tied. He got her. Fortunately it was a minor injury, mostly lost feathers but the exposed skin was a target for the other hens. Poor girl received more harm from her sisters than what the dog did. Blue-Kote to the rescue. She stayed in the coop all day while the rest of them went free-ranging. When I got home from work she was eating and drinking so I think she will be fine.

That was my day. How was yours?

Fun plumbing issues addressed today. Septic tank service here, then roto drain line guy here too. :sick Then nasty cleanup in the garage. But before horrid backup in the house! :sick:sick:sick
So much for that!
New chicks doing great! There will be some available later too.
Baked a cake and frosted it this afternoon, just what we all need, but never mind. I think I'm growing sideways during this at-home event.

Woke up to another winter wonderland view this morning.
HUGE fat flakes falling fast and everything coated in 2+" white.
Snowed all morning but was melting faster than it could pile up much more.
That should be the last one, right?

Glad to see broody is navigating well, she's gotten up on her own to eat/drink/poop,
always relieves me to see evidence of that activity, then back on all tucked in.
I think she was having a bit of trouble walking around the eggs, would just barely get in the nest and plop down with her tail sticking out, but I think she figured it out. Hope I don't find any broken when I candle in a couple-few days, gave her fertile eggs on Wednesday after a few days on fakies after moving her from main nests.
