Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I've been on the phone since Tuesday!
Tracking too; arrived in Kansas City Wednesday night, then nothing. Arrived Detroit 6:30am today. Didn't arrive on either truck to Owosso today. I was told that it's not possible to pick them up in Detroit; i would have gone today.
Three weeks ago, same hatchery, same day of the week, chicks arrived the next day!
This time....
Mary

Hopefully you will get them tomorrow, Mary. :fl

Is it my imagination? Or do people seem to be so much ruder lately?
Swung by TSC after work for needed critter supplies. Got the bum rush out the door because they are now closing at 6:00 due to the pandemic they said. No sign on the door of the new hours.

Stopped for gas and paid inside. Clerk actually threw my change back at me. Bills scattered on the counter and the coins rolled on to the floor.

Not even a "thank you" from either stop. Social distancing is one thing, but this was social outcasting. If you ask me.

Surprise surprise, a hummingbird report from up here in the upper peninsula. of course it plunged to 26 degrees last night and it's only 34 now. Hope the poor little guy is still alive. I'll have to put my feeder out during the day and bring it in at night so it doesn't freeze.
This gives me hope! Woke up to the snow this morning, and frozen hummer feeder. Washed it out and put it away. But if there are any out there, they are probably really needing the sugar boost, so I will get it back up and running tomorrow!

Is it my imagination? Or do people seem to be so much ruder lately?
If it's your imagination, then it is my imagination, too! Hard times with so much tension and uncertainty in the air!

Hope you get them asap, Mary! How upsetting! :(

My TSC has a big sign outside showing hours and the mandatory face mask requirement to enter store.

Hard times with so much tension and uncertainty in the air!
Many are tense and frustrated and fearful. I am steering clear of anyone not wearing a mask....and trying to be supportive, empathetic, and kind to folks who are working the stores. Working with the public is a challenge during normal times, now it's really hard.

:wee The Perry post office called at 7:45am, and all eighteen chicks are looking good! They are eating, drinking, and moving around in the brooder!
The PO had three other boxes of chicks there this am, all quiet.

Oh thank goodness!! Whew!!

This morning's visit to the Williamston TSC; Hours posted, folks wearing face masks, and folks (idiots!) not wearing them, all shopping. The check-out clerk was protecting her chin with her mask! I asked why? Answer, "well, I was talking, and I can't breath in it". Really? I'm so over it! Medical people can wear them all day, and still talk and breath! It's not difficult; inhale. exhale. magic!
So I'm ranting again...
Mary

Rant away, McDuff! We all need to vent once in a while. My last post wasn't a rant as much as it was a sigh of disappointment. I imagine that I'll be ranting later though. There has been a steady parade of city-its going by the house today.

Anyway, it's time to get busy and do some chores done. Time to enjoy the sun while it is shining.

I'm glad to hear that it's sunny somewhere. Cloudy, snowing, and 37 which I think is going to be our high today. I try not to complain about the weather a whole lot but really - our average high this time of the year should be in the mid-50s.
Have you seen your hummingbird today? How is it faring the cold snap? It is flurrying and 30 here!
