Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

that's wonderful! I never wake up that fast. It usually takes me to the next day before I can put two words together! Hope you have a speedy recovery. Wish I could have helped you out but am too far away.

I was surprised. I was still on the ventilator. But they pulled the tubes before 4pm. Another day under might have been nice. No more than a catnap since. Plus no solid food yet either.

I have a bit of a bird emergency to get your help on...my girls have been sleeping in my garage and they knocked a small fan over last night. One of them was huddled on the corner and couldn’t walk when I got to her. She could stand but looks like very unbalanced to walk and she’s wimpering. I kept her inside with me last night. She’s panting and lying down right now. She has water and mash feed with a little yogurt to temp her to eat.
Totally my fault with the fan...I was just trying to keep them cool and it looked
Like they knocked it over and she got the brunt of it. No blood and when I feel her body, it doesn’t appear that she has any other sensitive areas when I apply pressure.
I am going to keep her isolated, but other than that...do you have suggestions?

Give her time to recover. She may just be stiff from being in that position for so long. Keep her separated for a bit and put her out with the other chickens to encourage her to move. Keep an eye on her and she how she's doing.

Thank you. She standing up now and I’m wondering if I should put her back in the run or keep her with me this morning/afternoon. This is the first injury and I’m still learning.
