I built a new chipmunk house a.k.a. wood rack this week. Built it after getting home from work Only had about an hour & a half before it got too dark to do anything.
Now to fill it up so I can empty it over winter. I'll be working on that chore today.

Saw this thread and was like WOW

New to Michigan, moved here in Feb/April to help Mom when she was ill. Stayed cause of Covid and no funds to move back. Got 9 chicks in May, wanted all hens unfortunately got 1 rooster in the bunch. They are now laying which is exciting for me.

RaZ, Nice wood rack. We heat with a lot of wood too. Finally bought a wood splitter this year. We've rented one when we needed to, but then you have get it all done in one day, might not be the weekend you want.

So... the Lions didn't lose. Yay. The Steelers won! My husband is from Pittsburgh; I'm a football fan by marriage.

Spent yesterday cleaning the coop and run. Power washed and all clean bedding. Raked out the run. So many feathers!! Lots of rabbit poop, too. They have the run while the chickens are free ranging. All set for the colder weather.
Have one more camping trip this week end before we put the camper to bed. Sure was fun getting out for some fun during this crazy time. Not looking forward to the winter.
Enjoy today! Last warm day before the colder temps come in. Take care

Winter is coming. There's a report that we might just see some snow this week in northern lower michigan. Gotta get the coop around soon to get it set up for winter, and knock out a few other odds and ends.

It's supposed to be pretty nice here today. I'm going to take the old car to work. It is likely to be the last time for this year.
I've been bringing in firewood wood every day. Have a lot of cutting to do. Plus lots of other winterizing chores. Coop was cleaned out earlier so now I'm thinking of constructing a shelter in the run for added cover when the birds are out during the day. Something where I can hang the heated water fount and keep feed on the outside.

Time for me to get busy.
