Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Yeah, just a drained battery on the truck. pop it on the charger for a bit and its good.

Got mom in last Thursday for her colonoscopy. She didn't get a full one as they ran into some restrictions there that was likely caused by the radiation that she had oh, about 25 years ago when she had ovarian cancer. They also found some other spots there and they did some biopsy's on them. Mom got that report on those today, and it looks like it might be that Cancer might have come back. Kicker about it all is that I'm pretty sure that the pathologist on her report is one of my regular clients. At least not many people would have that last name, and I think that she does a more simple English name instead of her native name as well. Polish. She was actually my last client I saw right before we shut down for the thanksgiving covid spike. Hopefully, we caught it early enough that its not a huge deal, but yeah, this last year has been a total pisser for mom. The shingles on her face there, the stroke that she had in January that we think was caused by all the pain that she had, and then finally just being over the worst of the throbbing eye stabbing pain issues only to have us all go on lockdown for covid.

Prayers for your mom. It sure has been a very tough year for her. Hoping 2021 will be better, for all of us..
Christmas, just ten days away!! Are you all ready? I'm pretty much there. Most gifts are gift cards. A couple of birthdays to deal with. One granddaughter has her sweet 16 on Christmas eve. Making manicotti for our x mas meal. That's our tradition. A LOT of manicotti! A LOT of stuffing noodles.
Have a good day, all. Keep warm. Keep safe!

Hubby and I decided many years ago to stop giving Christmas gifts. We still do give something to close friends; usually home made nut butters, dried fruit, a six pack of favorite beer. For each other, it's usually something "big" that we need/want. A new mattress one year, a new furnace another year.

This year he really wants to learn how to weld and get some welding equipment. I said, go for it. He asked me what I wanted. Some welding projects would be nice. :)

We made it through this year with our health intact. We have food on the table, a roof over our heads. We have each other, our dog, and the chickens. What more could we want?

My mom had shingles behind the eye, EXTREMLY painful and she also had a stroke shortly after they finally cleared up. The pain lasted for a good year. So get your shingles shots. Strokes are not uncommon after bad episodes of shingles from what I have read.
Hope your mom comes out OK with the cancer. and has a much better yr.

Prayers for you mom for strength through her recovery and for your strength to be her champion and cheerleader.
