Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I worked extra hours today and didn't get home until about 7:30. Saw lots of snow geese in nearby fields and another flight of swans flying towards the small lake.

The best part was hearing the spring peepers when I got out of the car. The near pond is about 200 feet west of me. There is a bigger pond 500 feet south but I'm not hearing any calls from that direction yet. Soon though, soon. :thumbsup

I was lead engineer on a project back in the early 80's. Back when engineers wore ties daily and employees could smoke in the office. I had over 30 draftsmen and draftwomen all on boards. Ashtrays were used as paperweights. All of our tables were 8 feet wide and 20 feet long. Often, a designer would sneak a nap on the board at lunch or during overtime if we were working extended shifts. Those were good times.
Dude, how old are you?!
Sounds more like scene from the 60's.
How many women?

At one point, we were so busy designing molds that my boss gave me a key to get into the department and told me to work any extra hours I wanted to. I was having some trouble sleeping, so I'd wake up at 1:30, go to work, work 2 hours, then take a nap on the floor in my cube under the desk (long table, not a "desk").

One time, one of the project engineers came into my cube when I was under my desk, but awake, just doing a "slow wake up" before time to punch in. He was looking at the prints on my desk, muttering. I could have grabbed his ankle, but didn't. He left, never knowing I was there.

I told my boss about that, and he laughed. He said I should have grabbed his ankle to hear him scream and watch him levitate. :lau

Another time, I was there early, and another designer came into my cube while I was looking something up in a catalog. I hadn't heard him come in. I saw white tennis shoes down on the floor and shrieked! I scared him as much as he scared me.

My first thought was, "Death won't be wearing white tennis shoes when he comes for me."

I loved drafting - the precision appealed to my obsessive side, it was nice to do something that came out so perfectly instead of the messiness of teenage years. My grandfathers were an architect and an engineer, and my grandmothers were hellions for strict household order, so maybe that's where that came from. Well, not the household order.

Silly, your artwork is lovely as always. And it's nice to see how well your studio came out.
