Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I saw on the news there was some wind/tornado damage in Lake Odessa this afternoon. We spent most of the day with friends in Allegan County. We saw some downpours, that's for sure. Nothing damaged as far as we could see here, or on the way home.

There is an injured squirrel coming to the seeds on the ground under my bird feeder (front left leg seems broken and probably the back left leg, and possibly more injuries). What should I do? Leave it to nature, or trap it and bring it somewhere, or call someone? It looks to be in a lot of pain.

@Sally PB This chick ask him, what is your name? and he answered "Bond" "James Bond"; "what is your's?" She replied, "Ken" "Chic-ken"

I am so tired of this rain already . My girls need to stay inside for the most part and I cannot advance in the yard: coop, run, shed, drain way... Anyways, I did something very stupid. I was brought Pizza (cheese only) and there was a very tiny slice. I put it outside and they went crazy for it. I took it out before they finished. I just wanted to see what they would do.
No eggs today. They are in their roost. They know that if they are not in the roost, they will not get oats for a late snack. Then I give them kisses. They seem to get the repetition of this. I am spoiling them and I think I am in love with them. They saw me crying and began a weird noise. Have no clue if it was a kind of "cooing" or what but I ended up laughing.

Thank you so much and hope you all stay safe. Good night!!

Good Morning Everyone!

@aart @1muttsfan Good to know. I really want to think it is because they love me, :love

Well, it might rain today but I let them all out and placed their food and water outside as usual. Worse case scenario, the coop gets all wet from the rain. I can deal with that with extra alfalfa hay that I still have. All flew right out the door but Rachel. I had to go inside and pick her up and noticed an egg in the poop board. It was hard and not cracked. I washed it really good and the brown became lighter. Here is a picture of it in the middle of a white store bought one and the shell of her last small egg. Seems like they are improving in size. If I can only make her get down to the nest to lay it will be best. Hopefully she will learn soon.

Odd that I got them all from the same batch and to be around the same time in age but no other on is laying. I thought Monica laid one before but seems like it is all Rachel. Her eyes are like so much mature, lol I don't know. Is there a way to learn more about the noises that they make so I can learn what they are trying to mean with their sounds?

Well, better get my behind in the shower and get ready for church. I think I wan to go in person today.

Catch you all later!
