Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Chicklets have learned their first dust bath lesson well. Big Mama was off picking around - mini Panic attack when I couldn't see them right at first

Wish me luck - I found a poultry textbook from the 1950s in the pictures of an estate sale. I'm waiting for dd and sil to get done with dr appointments before going saleing. I really hope it will still be there.

I'm amazed, first that there is one and more that I could make out enough of the words on the cover to guess what it is. Usually, the pictures are too out of focus to read.

I'm hoping for an air purifier, too, that I saw in the pictures.

Wish me luck -
Whoo hoo!!! It was still there! $2 for a nice, clean, tight copy of 1946 Poultry Science and Practice.

Another $2 for a beautiful 1948 copy of Morrison's Feeds and Feeding. That was a surprise because it had a plain brown paper cover.

I passed on the 1930-something Maintenance of Farm Machinery put out by John Deere. It was also in nice shape but just too old - too many of the examples didn't even have three point hitches. I'll do better with the later copy I already have.

The air purifiers were gone.

I found two chamios ($2 for both), a nice deep wooden bowl ($2), a pair of gortex gloves big enough for my son ($1), bottles of red wine vinegar, champaign vinegar, molasses ($1 each), a oxo push top container full of white rice ($1), a half a roll of aluminum foil ($1), two cotton zip pillow protectors ($3 each), two like-new, goose down pillows ($20 each), and a flipper spatula that is our favorite type, hasn't been made in decades, and we've found twice so far - various of our kids took both (50 cents).

I think that is all. We went to three sales.

I checked the price of a wringer washer (we have three to sell), and several other things we also want to sell or at least not have anymore.

All in all, it wasn't really worth the cost of the miles but it was fun, we got some exercise, fresh air, sunshine, and it was nice doing this with dd and dsil. And I got a boost in the resolve to stop adding to my "stuff" problem and to keep thinning down.
