Knowing nothing about oils, where do you get these? Is any one of them better than the other?

I'm not sure hubby would go for the eucalyptus smelling one.
We like these three brands the best which is what we mostly have.

Ah! You said you spray them on. How many drops, what fluid do you use for a carrier?

Do those repel mosquitoes too?
No carrier oil. I use it as it comes in the bottle. We buy the small empty "in your pocket" size spray bottles. The ones where you press it with your finger and it sprays once.
I like to lay whatever clothing I plan on using on any level surface and make sure 95%+ of the clothing surface is covered. I realize that probably not everyone is able to handle the essential oil spray, pure. I avoid putting it on my skin in it's pure form. Some of those can cause a burning sensation, I've never had it damage the skin, it's just uncomfortable for awhile.
As far as carrier oil just use your favorite or do some research on it. I use the oil pure, but only on my clothing not on my skin.

I use a different approach. I wear shorts and spray my legs and shoes down with a Picardin repellent. If they hop on at least I can see the little devils. Fortunately we have few deer ticks up here, mostly Brown Dog Ticks.

Sorry Mary, hope you feel better soon!

I usually try avoiding the areas with ticks lol Plus with the essential oil spray and wearing leggings under my pants I can usually avoid any attaching to me. I think one year I only got 3 on me and all were still on my leggings.

I prefer to avoid chemicals whenever I can lol. So whenever possible if I'm getting sick I'll take elderberry syrup. The essential oils. I use some scents for my anxiety and if I'm sick.

My mom made an amazing plaintain salve. Its good for alot of stuff. Sunburns, rashes, bug bites, itchiness. A few years ago I caught hand foot mouth from my little sister and it was my savior because it was soooo itchy.

The plus side to natural is alot of stuff smells alot better lol.

Also when we couldn't afford flea and tick meds for our dogs we found scents that were safe for them until we could afford it.

I want to grow lavender it's one of my favorite scents.

Growing up summers in northern Wisconsin, also found many ticks and don't remember any deer ticks. That's changed! And the deer tick nymphs are so tiny, good luck finding them...
My recent tick episodes have been at neck/ hairline, from brushing against shrubs in my yard, very briefly. Definitely need that bug spray! Essential oil sprays will be too potent for me to inhale...
And it's not even spring yet. Yahoo!
