I need one of those to put in the chicken coop in the winter. Or in the green house. But I need one that doesn't need batteries, or batteries that will work at freezing and below.

We harvested our hops yesterday. Lots of Cascade and a fair amount of Nugget. Today is all about canning some smoked salsa and prepping tomatoes for canned stewed tomatoes. 25# of Roma's for $11 cannot be beat around here. Glad I have this fallback because my tomatoes did terribly this year!

I think we might try to hit up Mikey's Ice Cream tomorrow

@saysfaa I think I recommended this hanging dehydrator to you about your cherries. It works really well for large amounts of food. I prefer to dehydrate my hops this way and then vacuum seal them. They stay fresh for brewing.

Each layer zips and the whole thing folds down flat.

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

Staining the decks, painting most of the inside of the house, and cleaning the garage.

Dd and sil were here last week for partly a vacation and partly to help fix things and partly for other things. He is much, much handier than we are. We mostly worked but made one trip to Lake Michigan to swim. Even with the recent storms turning over the water it was refreshing rather than freezing. We always laugh about going swimming in Lake Huron in early June.

That looks interesting! What make/model is it? I'm going to be drying apples soon, and I do a LOT of them.
