Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I'm helping my neighbor get set up with her first coop and run and answering all the newbie chicken questions.
I've always wanted someone to just come to me and have a chicken Q & A with them😭

I had a young lady show up on my doorstep with a sick duck a few weeks ago. I almost had a heart attack  . I told her she should contact the DNR, they might want to test the bird. Then told her that I could not touch it nor could it stay at my house, and that she should not take it to her house and endanger her birds. She had not even considered AI.

I'm completely willing to get on a video call with you! I'm in the southwest corner of the state, else I'd be right over!
Thanks so much! If I have any chicken mysteries I can't figure out I know who to call!! ☺️
I was also thinking it would be SO fun if we had a BYC zoom call with all the members and meet everyone on there, like a nation or world wide thing lol!

Was it a wild one? I read the Mallards were high on the AI list. We've been lucky not to have any problems here. Crows routinely go in our duck house and steal food, plus we have wild bird feeders. My biggest problem is one you may not believe...a wild turkey that lives here. More on that long story later.
