Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

We also had ferocious wind and thunder/lightning. Hail and tornadoes were warned but neither happened. The tomatoes and eggplants and their friends were very happy to be rolled into the garage for the duration. They had had enough of the strong (but not ferocious) wind all day yesterday.

And a hurray! The car repair place can get the necessary work done so I can take Robin (the minivan) soon to ds's wedding way down south. This is praises because Indy (the truck) lost her air conditioning last summer. And Robin gets somewhat better mpg... she is still getting as good mpg as she ever did even though she is 20 years old this year. Or maybe 21, if you count calendar years.

We had crazy lightning and winds. The power has been out here since about 10:00 last night and isn't predicted to be on until 11 pm tonight. We had some big branches come down, but thankfully no damage and the trees seem to be just fine. I had been hardening off my plants, but they spent the night in the greenhouse.

My neighbors picked up their baby chicks today, but couldn't get into their garage! They're taking them into town (St Joseph) to use power at their taekwondo gym and I gave them my brooder plate and playpen and waterer to use.

Beautiful day today but I wasn't expecting it to be so HOT 🥵 I'm going to be looking for some battery powered window fans in case this happens again.

Glad to hear all are safe!

We had some very strong wind. The thunder and lightening was non stop for about an hour. We spent time in the basement. A tornado hit about a mile and a half from us. Near where the semi turned over, and all the electric poles were downed. Husband couldn't get to work. The four roads he tried, were all blocked either by fallen trees or electric poles. Finally hopped on the expressway. My son's neighborhood in Okemos was hit hard. It's very wooded, but apparently not any more. Couple of trees fell on houses. So sad. Glad everyone is safe.
