Anyone out there have bob white quail eggs? Looking for some; will post in the wanted section so look there if you have some you;d like to get rid of. I want non-hatching, non-eating, past prime eggs for art. Shipping shouldn't be a problem as they weigh next to nothing. PS: again, thanks for the condolences on my nephew's loss of life in Afghanistan. Our country has lost a true hero who wanted to make the world a better place. I hear we might have some problems with the Westboro Church people who protest at the funerals of fallen soldiers. Take a look at this piece of work...."Thank God for Dead Soldiers" Shelby police are on call as well as the motercycle veterans who take exception to this kind of thing.
It may be an interesting few days....if I can keep my mouth shut things may go okay.

I read in the Grand Rapids News that there are people who are planning to be a human shield between the mourners and the protesters. If there is anything we can do, would you post the information? Some of us live nearby.

So, I have a really crazy question. I don't know if any of you recall my little sebright, Baby Girl, that hatched out 2 eggs a few months ago. Well, one of her chicks was actually a leghorn/ee chick and she is now bigger than momma. I keep Baby Girl and her 2 chicks penned together and today my daughter came in after taking care of them and showed me 2 eggs from their pen. One was white, one pink. I didn't let them out today because of the rain and no other chickens were in there so is it really possible for an @3-4 month old to have laid an egg so soon? I mean, isn't that super early for a chicken?

Have another question, too. I'm sure I've seen this asked before, but are there any concerns with pairing (free ranging) chickens together with ducks or geese? How do ganders and roos get along with each other?

I understand that Freedom of Speech is one of the blocks our country was founded on and I spent several years in the military making my contribution to keeping our country free. While it is the right of a group like the Westboro Baptist Church to express their views to do so at the funeral of one of our gallant soldiers goes beyond the pale. To protest at the funeral of someone who gave their life defending our countries values seems horribly ungrateful and extremely callous and cruel.

The families of our fallen are suffering and for someone to add to that grieve is unconscionable. I was glad to read that others plan to create a human wall of privacy for the family. God please take our fallen comrade to your bosum.
