I would have liked to have seen the night lights on the lake also, ;;maybe next yr. I have to remember to have my grand daughter stay over night then I will have some one to go with. my guys have no interest
Oh, I wanted to see those, too, but we cut the time too close for leaving the house and we wanted to see the fireworks. If you get the chance next year, go see the fireworks. They were awesome. Hopefully, next year they will schedule both events further apart so we don't have to choose. Dh has no interest in going to any of the events either. We had to drag him to the fireworks...with a promise of ice cream.

Well, not sure why I have it, but I woke this morning to a sore throat. So I'm taking it easy, talking so low nobody can hear me, and sipping slowly on some warm tea.

Opa, I'm glad nothing got broken. Take it easy today.

Juise, how are ya? Loved the pics you posted earlier in the week.

Thanks! I'm behind on everything, tired of having to have other humans in my house every day, even if they are doing neat things like dusting and painting, (I'm not the most social person ever...) coming up with ways to cook things in the toaster oven is getting really old, I really miss having an oven, and frustrated with getting a new one. Mostly because every time I find one I am happy with, it turns out to be $3000!

Well, I may want a $3000 oven, but I am not getting one, so I just still don't have one at all.

But I cook all our meals from scratch most days, so picking an oven is a big deal to me. Also, I am really sick of store bought bread.

I also have to wash every article of clothing / cloth in this house because of the soot, and I am NOT having fun with that. I'm about ready to toss all but a weeks worth of clothes for each person straight from the dryer to the donate bag. We have way, WAY too many clothes! Especially for people who don't particularly give a snitch what they're wearing. I am not even thinking about using the line with how much I have to do...

Garden desperately needs weeding, but I am still too busy with extra crap from the fire to do that, it's all I can do to keep the beans and peas picked. I have no idea what's wrong with my tomatoes, normally we have lots, but this year I have had ONE! ONE tomato! And it was half rotten from the start. I wonder if I really could have over watered them through this Summer, seems... unlikely.

I'm attempting to declutter everything I go through while I wipe things out, I want to have so much less miscellaneous "stuff", you know? Less stuff = less mess = less cleaning = more better. Right? But it turns out I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old and that is making accomplishing anything very difficult, as per usual.

Like yesterday. Yesterday, while I was working on the laundry, the girls went to the bathroom. When I went in to see what they were still doing in there, every flippin surface and item in the entire room was covered in shaving cream, as were both the kids. How do they fit so much shaving cream in one little bottle?

Anyway, you asked.

I got one lone tomato also! Mine was yummy but I could use a couple bushels more! And I know I did not overwater! I was thinking that I underwatered!

Juise, when you look back, this may be the sweetest time in your life. I know if I could turn back the clock and have toddlers and my husband back and my parents living, I would give anything to do that. At the time, like you, I was just overwhelmed. And tired! Hugs!

Oh, and Farmerboy - I know I had you quoted, too, don't know why it didn't show up, and for that matter, I wonder if I lost any others. I wanted to ask if you use ASL?

No, none of us 6 deaf kids does sign language. 3 siblings are normal. My parents wanted us to have a normal life as much as possible, so we went to a special school that help kids to learn how to talk, and other language skills. Me being the first one to be born profound deaf, I was not implanted until 6 years old, but had hearing aids before that, but they were failing me and the doctor refused to implant me. But my parents pushed to get me implanted, so I got one. My other siblings were implanted at age 2 and down to 13 months old. I have two implants now, and my mom is working to get the rest of them to have two implants, so we all can hear and pinpoint sounds better.

About your stove Juise- My dad owns a Discount Appliance Store, and maybe he has a stove that you want.

Juise - I never used to get anything done when my son was small - besides chase him. Now he loves to work, work time = 4 wheeler time.

Back from taking the birds to the fair. I guess I must admit to the fact I have become a poultry snob.

I just don't want to see another Sebright. I think our birds are the best, but I guess we'll see what the judges think.

1muttsfan - we did have 4 birds carried off by hawks, all bantam. The large fowl it ate where it attacked it.

Sam, take it easy today!! Has nothing to do with being old. We all hurt when we fall like that.
Chickflix you must not be over 60. Now that I am, a fall hurts even more then ever. I know. I have fallen 9 times this last winter/spring...for one reason or another. I just don't bounce back as quickly, I find myself wondering if its time to get a medical alert to wear around my neck. ha ha. I tell myself that I am too young for that but then I turn around and work like I am 30 and end up over exhausted and not watching how I walk or where I place my feet. As you get older, you start thinking more abt those kind of things. It stinks when the body is wearing out but the mind still thinks you are 16.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that we have a new website. We now have our own domain name. Feel free to check us out and let us know what you think. The new address is www.hensonacres.com. Thanks!
Hi Tim,
Nice website. I notice you were keeping only one duck and one goose this Winter. Does that work? I thought ducks and geese had to be kept in pairs? Thanks for the info and good luck with that site, it's very easy to navigate.
