Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I'm not over sixty... in another year, I'll be sixty. Shhhh, don't tell anyone!! I don't move as easily as I use to. I do try and keep active.
Pretty day out, after dinner, have to go back out and weed some more. Take care

I heard a rucus and looked out in the Chante Coop, Casper had Spooky run into a corner was holding him by the neck feathers and just shaking the stuffing out of him. So I rescued Spook and took him to the garage where he sat for hours while I worked, even using the loud staple gun. He is such a nice fella and needs a good home please.......ANYbody??

I'm in Munger if you'd like a NICE rooster, he's 11 weeks and they are crowing now.

Fuzzy- Yep, Andy's Discount Appliance. :D

RaZ- Thanks. :)

The memorial service for Micah was yesterday morning, it went well, with lots of tears. A lot of people showed up. It was very nice.
We all had to go to our cousin's wedding in the afternoon. Thankfully it was short and my heart was not in the wedding. But the reception was not until an hour and a half after the wedding, so it was a long wait, and was glad to leave for home and chill.

Rabbits make a shrill scream, almost human when they are getting attacked.
I TELL me about it!! I took a Californian doe to the vet once cause she had puss and smell coming from her ears. The vet grabbed this long LOOOOOOOOOOONG swab stick and I asked "is that gonna hurt her?" He said NAW and started to dig around. Holey Bologna she let out a scream and I fainted!

They had to revive me. I cannot tolerate a hurt animal crying out.

Coffee is a must this morning. I woke with just about every muscle and joint aching from a fall I took yesterday. Old people don't bounce as well as young folks.

Across the front of my house I had a water feature. Near the front steps is a 125 gallon pond from which water flowed 65' to another pond that is 12'x30'. There is a 12' drop between the two. The raceway is rubber lined and rocked with a couple of drops of about 3'. When I first installed it 15 years ago it was very pretty and soothing to listen to the water cascading between ponds. Unfortunately the plastic and rubber materials failed two years ago and it all needs to be replaced.

One flower, I believe a variegated vinca major, has taken over completely obscuring almost everything. Yesterday I decided that I needed to start cutting it back and removing a lot of it. As I worked down the slope I stepped backward off one of the plant hidden 3' drops.

After lying there a few minutes to determine nothing was broken I managed to get up and walk off the pain and finished what I had wanted to accomplish. I was sore but not as much a I thought I would have been.

This morning is a different story. Every joint and muscle has decided to remind me of what they went through. Nothing moves without protest and I suppose I'm lucky that's all I have to endure. I've know others who went through less and wound up with broken bones. Still it doesn't make this aging thing feel like a cause for celebration.

Enough whining. Today is going to be another beautiful day. We're all still here to enjoy the sunshine so life is good. The melons, accidentally planted due to being mismarked seedlings at the nursery, have grown well. The melons on them and huge and are starting to ripen. Both Granny and Hope love cantaloupe so I'm sure they will enjoy them.

Each day is a wonderful thing to enjoy. Just some days you must look a little harder to find the beauty.
Feeling bad for ya Opa, all my chicken tractor building has my right arm aching like crazy. Drill. Screw Driver. Drill. Screw Driver. Never been so sore in my life. Hope the aches and pains settle down for ya. This stuff wasn't near so hard to do 20 years ago, but then, I didn't do this stuff 20 years ago either.

Yeah nice site, wish I could do that. Have you put up any pics yet of the Dominiques you got from me?? Can't wait till you are getting your peewee's, they are so fun.

I did a even worse thing today and I'm sick over it.
Candled the 3 eggs that have been under Honey since Aug 10th, nothing showed up in any of them so I set them aside and replaced them with 4 new ones, she wants to be a Momma so bad.
Later tonight after those eggs had sat in the kitchen all morning and afternoon I cracked them open and guess what??" Yup, one was developing and was still alive, it was moving.
I FEEL AWFUL and could just die.
