Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I also had a cockerel that did a number on his leg, ok, a few cockerels.. rotten hormones. Anyway, it took a few weeks for them to heal, but heal they did. Only they'd lay down a lot and take the pressure off, and when they'd stand, the leg was always up, and they'd kinda hop along with their wings out a bit for balance...

Just waiting for BF to get home. A trip to the store really quick turned into going over to our friend's place to get his motorcycle looked at, then a trip into Flint. The friend rebuilt the bike, so he's the go-to guy if something need's fixing, and right now it's the speedometer cable that needs a change.

One of the two d'uccles is really noisy first thing in the morning. It's a good thing her voice is small, if it weren't all the neighbors would probably be quite mad. She comes right up on the deck to the door and yells for us to come see her. Bratty little thing.

Thanks I am going to keep looking

Now THAT is using your resources, cute!
Feel her leg joints for swelling and warmth, what side is it?
it is the left side. she seems fine otherwise, just happy to lay still I didn't notice any swelling but I will check again

Bob I think I will mix some paper in my coop, all water and food is outside.. kees the inside so much cleaner

working on the roof for the new building today. got the trusses up and the purlins nailed on. We have to figure out the best way to cut all 12 panels down to the correct length (need to take about 14in off) using the tools we have. REALLY hoping the answer doesn't end up being tin snips. BTW, in case you didn't know, it's HOT out today!

All is well with the birds and i.
Going to start beautifying the inside of my camper coop, putting new interior walls in place of the old rotted wood. :) When the project is all done, I will have a divider "wall" (chicken wire) between the back 2/3 and the front third, with the feeder and watering being able to be done from my side of the wall, just in case i ever need a bird sitter. I want to build nesting cabinets along one wall too, like the ones HH (?) had last year. That would give the broodies a little more space than the rabbit cage, and then they would have a little more time before they had to abandon the nest with their babies. I also want a little nook for me, so even if the weather is bad i have a place to sit with them and not have to fear sitting in chicken poop!
I really need some old oven racks or something similar to deter 2 legged thieves though, i have noticed one lingering around next door. :(

Sorry you are not feeling well. I'm still planning to bring some high bush cranberry over to you. Just thought they would be more likely to survive the transplant better if I waited till they are dormant.

I'll be happy to spend some time at your place, and do some of those things piling up, before winter makes itself a cold blast. Maybe some others, living hereabouts could make it too ???? PM me. others..
Thanks

I just keep plugging away, a little at a time. It will get done eventually. If I am lucky winter won't even come

Ok.. I know winter probably will not do you any favors there HH... BUT I need it to me a favor and I am sure RBahmer wants it to do her some favors too... Like lesson the coon pop. LOL, other than that... no biggy. It can take its time getting here.

My dryer took a poop. Might work for 2 minute, then shuts off and buzzes if you try and turn it on...

My dad can make a service call to your place to fix your dryer.

Laura- I am so sorry that you have to rehome all of your chickens! :( Let me know if you need any help, you know that I am not too far from you. :)
