I love bantam cochins...me thinks we will have a few more next spring! lol! (My hubby won't notice a few extra banty's running around, right?)

Love all the pics Taprock, but I think they are all prettier in person.

Does anyone here have an automatic closing/opening door that they have made? What with the real possibility of a second job starting soon, my time is really limited. My birds have a safe and secure run, but I always close up the coop nice and tight each evening. I'm looking for something that doesn't take a mechanical engineering degree to make, AND it has to be affordable. I have three, potentially four, pop doors that would need automation.

Any ideas or links? A search on this site makes me think I either need to buy them (excluded by cost) or hire an electrician (probably also excluded by cost). Maybe I have missed something? Must be an easier, more cost effective way.

Your basques look great Tap
Someone hooked us up with some really nice ones!

I had someone ask me about getting some, will you be hatching some this year?
Did the basques turn out as "drawn to people" as they say?
I really can't say that they are any more than any of my birds, but then all of them eat out of my hand and don't mind being carried around. The girl, Ginger will eat worms from my dh who the birds aren't really around much. I love Fred the roo. He runs around making a noise that sounds like he's either purring or growling.

Anish I'm glad the boys are working out and still friendly.

Bretheren - I know someone on here makes them because they had them at chickenstock. I'm sure someone else will remember.

Off to my coffee.

Yeah, there was a guy selling them, but don't remember his name. Think Sam (Opa) has made his own. Might want to PM him and ask if he can send you plans or even make them himself. I would highly recommend his workmanship.

I come in to work today, expecting the building to be empty so I could do some of the noisy work I can't do during the week cause we're a call center so it's gotta be fairly quiet otherwise.
There are people working!

I guess we are open during the weekends in Nov. to process insurance claims due to Sandy. We handle claims for the majority of auto insurers.

Luckily the work I wanted to do is on the other end of the building so it wouldn't affect the claims center.

I was so happy to find out that the neighbors who used to hunt next to me got all their gear out, and haven't disturbed the area at all!

What I was also happy to find... was my bow/gear hanger that I used to have screwed in the tree at my stand......was screwed into the tree where their stand was............. it was so nice of them to leave it for me........ in the tree......... 20ft in the air with no way to retrieve it....... AHats! Other other good news, I didn't see any signs of EHD affected deer in our area, and found a couple huge rubs made by a large buck!

Anyone going to TSC should pick up a copy of Hobby Farms magazine. Inside are coupons for Blue Seal and Purina feeds. Each are $10 off when purchasing 2 bags of feed.
