Agreed. You post did make me

though.

Alright, enough wasting time on things that don't matter if I waste my time on them...back to work and the real world.

agreed

Agreed too. :( BUT, we have what most people don't have is faith in God will see us through hard times ahead, so rejoice in the day that the Lord has made! :)

Farmer Boy -  first I saw  "I VOTED,"  then the picture of the cow.  I figured you lived in Chicago where Bella's vote would be counted.  Now I see you are from Michigan. Oh well.  I used to live in Chicago for the first 22 years of my life, so I speak with authority on this subject.:duc

I am sure that Bella is smarter than some people that I know, and maybe the election outcome would have been different if she had voted. ;)

Glad that you don't live in Chicagoland anymore. I had stayed there for a week before, I nearly went of of my mind cooped up in that city.

I think I did something good/bad... A friend of my mom asked me to find a home for someones dog. They are taking him to the shelter tomorrow.
I don't know if there is anything wrong with him... he looks sweet!
Baxter a brussels griffon... 9 years old... not fixed male

Ok, elections are over. Some of us are rejoicing and some of us are sad. But, please, there's nothing we can do about it now. I sure do wish the people who send me all those political e mails will stop. For the last 4 years, I've had emails putting our president down. Can you just please shut up already?? Shut up and pray that the president will make our country a proud nation again. There's a lot of work ahead of him and he'll need all our prayers.

I feel like crap. Every bone in my body hurts. My head is all stuffed up. Babysitting yesterday for 4 young, very active girls wore me out but good. I just want to crawl in bed and sleep all day. But, the chickens need some attention and have an appointment this afternoon.

Congrats, Babygirl!! Hope you feel better soon!

That dog is so cute. Hope he finds a good forever home.

Have a good day, everyone.

I don't think that RELIGIOUS and POLITICAL comments belong in here at all.

So anyway, I've got a bean soup in the pot with my homegrown beans and smoked ham hocks from St. Johns. It'll be in the crock pot all day smelling up the house. These are last year's beans. I shelled this year's and needed room to store them (twice as many this year). Also just finished some Levy's bagels. My kids are addicted to them, which is great but they take two days to make so I'm in a constant state of bagel. I'd rather they eat those than the shelf-stable crap though. Any bread that doesn't mold isn't right.

I'm in the process of shelling sunflower seeds too. I've got about thirty heads hanging in the garage. Most will go to the chickens but I love them too so I'm working my butt off to get enough shelled to work with. So far I've got a large bowl about half full, four heads-worth. I need to get the sorghum off the heads sometime too. I'd give them to the chickens as is but I need the straw for brooms or selling for brooms. It would be a waste to have them pecked apart and pooped on... unless I can figure a way to hang them, away from the sheep who will tear them to shreds. I cut up my kids' pumpkins for the chickens and the sheep ate them all. Stinkers.

I'm not a dog person but I'm losing my patience with my old cat as well. He went and gorged himself on his food this morning and then barfed it up whole and spent the next few hours begging for more food. He's a neurotic cat. Always has been. He used to puke daily but we learned, after many years of this, that if he's confined to a room or a cage at night, he won't get sick everyday. I've read that some cats feel overwhelmed by the enormity of their territory and... puke. So after he started peeing, we confined him at night and both bodily functions are kept in check. But today... I dunno, he just yakked everywhere and then drove me nuts wanting food. If he doesn't get the food, he licks plastic bags, licks it, licks himself, licks it, licks himself... OY! After working so hard in the kitchen this morning I finally stopped to get him some more food (the younger cat empties the bowl every morning - we're still not sure if he's half-pig or what) and he took all of a few pieces and went to take his daytime nap.

On a happy note, the chickens are still laying in full force. One has decided to start laying in the sheep's hay feeder again, which isn't wise as the sheep are now eating out of that feeder daily... but ah well, they'll learn when they get nipped.

And they are on both ends of the spectrum...both parties. They just need to remember the people. The ones who elected the whether they voted for them or not. They all need to stop playing the blame game and actually get back to basics, fix it, and stop bandaiding everything. Like plugging a whole with bubblegum.

I took in a friends cat that puked every day. She had young kids. While with us, he seemed to do so much better. Just puked every now and then. But, noticed when the grand kids came over, he'd end up puking for a few days afterwards. Finally found him a good home with no kids and he's doing great.
