I'm glad MJ posted the link. Butter Dips are great. They were in the Betty Crocker cookbook but are no longer in the new ones. Probably some health nut decided they had too much butter.
When you are making them don't work them too much and the length of the dough strip is the width of the pan and they will be touching. When they are baked they will pull apart.

I am glad y'all are feeling better. Newaygo schools are closed this week due to illness. I am hoping we don't get it here. We have a wedding to go to next week in Chicago.

Hi RIRJen,
frow.gif
it's been a while since you've visited. How is Frank the Tank? We are going to invite his brother to dinner next week because we have 5 roos now and only the 10 hens & 2 pullets.

Hey Jen, I think most people's production is down right now. I am only getting about 3 eggs a day from my LF hens and I have 18 of them! Sometimes more, sometimes less. The bantams are a little better, but not much. It should get better, give them time.

Mine have gone down a little bit but I'm still getting 6-7 eggs/day out of 14 hens. This will be my first Winter with them, and I keep expecting production to pretty much stop. Anywho... My hubby put the video of Peaches up on YouTube. Here's the link to Peaches in her new apron/saddle/whatever-the-heck-its-called.

The little showgirl pair I got from fowlfest is laying WHOO-HOO! I am so excited! I put my bator away about a month ago because I decided I was done hatching until next spring. That was until I seen a little showgirl egg in the chicken house waiting for me. I put 4 partridge showgirl eggs in the bator tonight that will be hatching on Thanksgiving along with 1 black b-cochin egg and 4 barnyard x eggs *couldn't stop at just 4 eggs* So forget the Thanksgiving turkey...I got chickens hatchin:bun

If anyone has any more showgirl eggs for hatchin...let me know.

Anyone else having a Thanksgiving hatch?

Good morning everyone! Sure is cold out this morning. Looking forward to the slight warmup this weekend. All your talking about canned meat is contagious. Now I am searching for a pressure canner, I just have to try canning venison. Bundle up and have a great day!

Good Morning! Frosty out there. Weekend is looking good, but unfortunlatey, I have to go back to Chicago to take care of some matters. I'm gonna be thinking of all the things I could be doing, like getting my flower garden cleaned up. Oh well, hopefully we'll have at least one or two more decent days so I can get the gardens cleaned up. Have a good day, all!
