I have fertile eggs from a a Serama pair, the Roo looks like him... If you don't find a roo, you could have some of my eggs to hatch.

That would be fabulous! My son is just devastated. This Roo was like a favorite dog to him. I would love to get him another. Eggs woud be great. I'll PM you.

I'm headed out to set up a brooder in the garage so I can get a boatload of chicks out of the house.

First sign that spring is coming...... We just lost my sons best bird friend Kazaam, I came home this morning and saw one of my daughters favs sprawled out and she looked like a dog got ahold of her...I was instantly ready to just run away as I walked up to Amera she jumped up and gave me this look that told me I just interruped a very needed warm sunny day sun bath! Boy did she ever tell me off.

Wow, Opa!!!! That's so cool! I never saw a wild turkey until I moved up here to Michigan a few years ago. I saw a few of them walking on the side of the road one day and freaked out. My DH looked at me like I was nuts. "But they were turkeys! Just right there on the road! They're so pretty!"

DH didn't get my enthusiasm.

I still can believe how close the come to my house. Some times they are within 2' of the house. In my front yard I have a 15' high ornamental crab apple tree that is coveredc with fruit and it doesn't lose them until spring. I is 8' from my driveway and 20' from the road. I have seen people practically run off the road looking at the turkeys around and in that tree feeding on the apples. One morning Hope went out and there was at least a dozen in the drive. The flew off when she stepped out on the front porch. As she backed out of the drive she saw that 4 or 5 of the turkeys were sitting on our roof waiting for her to leave.

Spring must be here! There's buds on the maple tree and the lilies are just barely poking through the ground. The lilies are not even by my house, so I can't blame it on being right up against the house. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a beautiful day!!

Hey, Opa... Currie (or some other hen) cracked the duck egg that she's sitting on. I candled it today, and it appears to be alive, but I noticed a small, beak-shaped crack in it. I'm assuming that cracked eggs can't be hatched, but maybe I'm wrong? Should I just toss it? I gave it right back to her because she got so upset. I guess if I need to toss it I can just stick another one under her.
