I've got friends in Rapid River and Gladstone. I was on the Bay de Noc-Grand Island trail during Memorial Day weekend. I do that endurance ride they host there. Another yooper from Ontonagon just joined too

to cornelljacks!

Today DH and I got part of the hoop house run covered with chicken wire. Also I went to Family Farm and Home and found some DE. I have been looking everywhere for it. Today I wasn't even looking and found it.

Stay safe, friends!!
Tornado warnings for Brianna and Milan and Lenawee county- and now our sirens are going off here..

I have no basement- and is it wrong that I am more worried about the ducks outside than me-
just heard a tornado touched down south of Saline.

be careful everyone!

Yeah, it got pretty ugly lastnight. Several branches and trees down in my area. Lots of sirens lastnight and fire/rescue sirens this morning. Spent the whole evening preparing for the worst. No damage at my place this time thank goodness. (I'm 20 min west of Saline)

LOL, I had to add that we had a lighting strike close to the house and it litteraly scared the stink out of a skunk in the woods near the house. Poor little feller!

Good morning, the coffee is hot and the chores are mostly done. (well, all I absolutely have to do anyway) It poured hard here.
The chicken run was washed clean. There wasn't a single sign of poo anywhere.

Silly chicken you are pretty close. We are just 25 mins south east of Saline. We spent an hour in the basement last night. Power stayed on so we were watching the news. Basement is part way finished, one of those projects we do ourselves a little at a time. So we were comfy in the TV room. The kids slept on the couch and the oldest slept there all night. We have some pretty big trees over the road very near us, but other than that everything seems fine.

Not much sleep and I already downed a whole pot of coffee myself. Ice tea maybe for the rest of the day.

Cooler weather hopefully everyone has a good day.

Glad to hear that you are all safe from last night's storm! We just had rain and lots of thunder and lightening! Nothing too bad. My little one was so worried that the power was going to go out again! She didn't like that AT ALL!!

Have a great day! Looks like we are going to get some nice temps today! I can't take the heat right now! Less than 2 weeks until the baby is born!!

cornelljacks I am from Brampton (Gladstone) so we must be close.

I just hatched 25 chicks yesterday and what I thought was suppose to be Isa Browns weren't LOL. I had to call and ask the farmer I always get these eggs from what I had LOL He switched out all his birds now he said Rhode Island reds with a Rhode Island Roo and a another Roo he don't remember the name LOL I don't know what I have but they are cute and healthy so who really cares. I am thinking there might be some Cochin in there as I got some feathered feet thrown in there and the Babies who don't look like Chipmunks (some have red running down their back some have black) are black with either yellow under their chin and yellow in the wings or black with redish under the chin. Others are white to soft yellow so who knows.
