She hasnt gone yet though. She did pee. Honestly, she is so skeletal that there probably isnt anything in her intestines at all.

And yes, we will keep her. Whats one more? heh heh heh...my husband is enjoying her, and he is the one that would say we have to give her up. So, the more he likes her, the easier it will be for me to have my way.

Good Evening!

Early night tonight at the theatre

OMG, you sound JUST like me!! Like I said before, I had two teeth pulled a week ago and ever since I've been SO sick. I mean on the couch, never moving, not eating, crying at the drop of a hat sick!! I tried calling the doc's office that pulled my teeth but they never called me back, so today I went to my doc. She was SO worried. My face is all swollen and my gums are totally white and puffed up. So she was upset that the dentist's office never called me, so SHE called them. Well, it's a 15 min trip from the doc's office home and when we got home there was a msg from the dentist office's manager to call her ASAP. When I did she asked why I hadn't called them. I could barely speak and I was on the verge of tears and she told me to come in tomorrow at 330. What I'm afraid of is that I've been taking antibiotics since last Thurs with no relief, so I may have to be hospitalized and have IV treatments and possibly surgery. I still think there's loose bone in there (bone spicule) but there's no telling. All I know is I better get some answers tomorrow. I've been wanting to lose weight but not this way. I have lost 14 lbs in a week. Over 25 in a month thanks to this dental stuff.

Off that subject, I am happy to say we now have 3 LAYERS!!! After 2 months of struggling to get ONE hen to lay, we now have 3. I think it's one of the Welsummers, a BR and definitely the Serama. WOOHOO!!! It seems this is thanks to cat food and hot dogs and apple cider vinegar!!!

Keyt, Hope you get some relief today. I'm glad your doctor finally got involved. Take care and if you have to go to the hospital for IV's and antibiotics, do so because that may be the best treatment. Try to get liquids down to keep you from getting to dehydrated. Praying for a quick recovery.

I feel so sorry for the 2 of you! Praying that you will get your teeth issues fixed so you can get back to normal life.

I'm just west of A2... between there and Jackson. I work in A2 though (only town that still has decent employment)

So far my hens have hatched 20 chicks..... I may have some salmon faverolles for sale! LOL! I found one lastnight that wasn't doing well. Looks like it suffered a head trauma, bleeding from the nose, and you can see blood inside (skull/skin still semi transparent).. poor little fella, eye's were glued shut w/blood and he can't breath through his nose very well. Was doing a little better this morning, Had to clean his eyes and nose again and got some water in him. He's pretty unstable trying to move around. I put him with the other chicks this morning and hoping for the best. I'll bring him in this weekend and keep an eye on him if he survives the day.

M2A - hope you get the teeth situation taken care of... there's not much worse a thing than tooth pain... hurts your whole head! Get better soon!

Happy October, everyone!

I am secretly a lover of fall and the holiday season that follows, but I force myself to hold off on getting excited, decorating and planning for it until October 1st because otherwise I will go overboard. So today marks the day I officially allow myself to embrace my inner-Martha Stewart. Let the games begin!

Tomorrow we're going to head over the the Orchard to buy apples and spend the day making apple sauce. Anyone else have fall plans in the works?

Thanks everyone!

3 hours and counting til I see the dentist. Never in my life have I been so excited to see a dentist. Actually, I'm secretly hoping they admit me to the hospital for IV treatment. That's how miserable I've been for a week!!

I have a silly question. One of my 2 month old call ducks (I have 3 females) looks like a mess. All 3 of them are completely feathered out, but Lucy looks like she's been in a bar fight! Do ducks "shed" or lose feathers in preparation for different feathers for winter? It's mostly on her sides and back end. They aren't tight to her body like everyone else. Any ideas?

Happy October! It's my favorite month of the year. That's why I wanna get well FAST so I can enjoy it!

Hey, Vicki, did you EVER feed Giselle? He has become obsessed with the feed here. To the point sometimes he doesn't go forage with the other geese he just sits by the feeders all day. He acts like every meal is his first and last and he's starving to death. Obviously, you must have starved him.

He also hates my tennis shoes. If I wear my boots out, he's fine. If I go out there in my tennis shoes he hisses at them and then attacks my pantlegs.

Crazy Goose!

Everyone else is doing well, too. The buffs have all settled right in and become "part of the family". The blues... well, we'll just say we can see what you mean about breeding season.

The blue gander isn't exactly Mr. Friendly, is he? LOL! I still like him, but I'm afraid I'm his only human fan at this point.
