PHEW!!! I just spent the last hour navigating my DH to a hotel... Had to find where he was, and direct him to a room... poor guy couldn't hardly see the road or signs....I found/booked a room for him luckily! He said it's really bad... He's made it as far as Broken Arrow OK... they have almost 2 ft of snow.. cars all over, trucks jack knifed all over. I think he may be there a while!

We have generator that runs the whole house. Even if I have to run the dryer it's fine. We've never had any issue, but we do be careful to not run everything at once. A few years ago (in February, of course), there was a nasty ice storm and were told it would be days before the power would be back on. So we loaded up early -- like on black Friday and headed out to find a generator. We found one at Ace Hardware. We were one of the first people in line before they opened. Good thing because the generators were gone almost instantly. My BIL put a plug in our garage to plug it in and then a safety feature/breaker in the electrical panel for it.

I cleaned out the coop this morning. Sure glad I did! The chickies were happy, too. I loaded them up with lots of extra straw to stay cozy in.

Everybody stay warm and safe! Enjoy the snow.

It's blowing so hard out there that I can't tell if it's snowing or just the wind blowing what's on the ground around. Glad I put a bunch of scratch in the coops tonight so when the hens wake up tomorrow they'll have a happy surprise and I won't have to worry about going out there! It's so funny that everything is closing, but it hasn't started to snow yet. Wouldn't it be funny if the storm missed us and all this panic was for nothing?? Well, folks stay warm and safe!
