Keyt...I am sorry you are in such pain....hope you feel better soon.
Cricket...I have heard that baby chicks/ducks, etc. can drown in the waterer and to prevent that...put marbles or pebbles in the water rim. I have never done that because I was always thinking...how would a chick drown in such a small amount? Guess maybe they fall asleep with head in it?? I don't understand it either but I'm sorry to hear the sad news.

On a happy note...I got 12 eggs from Maria Hall yesterday and today I get my dozen Blue Jersey Giants from Wynette and tonight I will be loading into the incubator. Last hatch!!

Good morning from S. Michigan... I am looking for a pet quality Silkie or Frizzle pullet to buy. We had a hawk attack last fall which took my favorite girl. I think we have remedied the situation (as best we can) and would like another pullet. Thank you to anyone who can help. I posted in the 'wanted' section.

I believe he's looking for some Sicilian Buttercups. In my searches for birds, I've not seen this breed posted anywhere but if I do find any I will let you know!

What ever cold/flu thing is going around it likes to linger. Sheesh! I can't wait until this day is over, staring at this computer screen is not helping clear my foggy head.

My husband called to tell me that three of my muscovy babies out there with mama drowned in the waterer.
How? Why?
I dont get it. They must have gotten soaked and then trampled. There are seven others. I dont think they need water at all now. mama has been such a good mama, she must have been very upset. Or maybe she didnt notice.

That is so sad

I found 2 ducklings dead this am too. I have no idea what happened to them.
