So, this is not BYC related...well, not really...but after so many people begging me to take my photography more seriously, well, I'm trying it. I have a couple of different ads on CL and I started a page on facebook. My business now has a name too called Natural Charm. I chose it because I don't like portraits or any kind of photography that's set up. I like natural moments without professional poses.

This is going to be a long road to get to where I want to be. We talked about using our other house next door as a studio, but that's going to be a while because there's no heat or water there yet. Oh and my whole 800 sq ft apartment's contents are in one room and all 4 of our kids have their belongings in other rooms lol. So for now I am willing to travel...somewhat.

Portraits are kinda new to me because I've worked with animals and scenery since I was 12. I've decided to offer senior, family and engagement portraits. I won't do weddings because I know how most people want fancy photography which I'm not able to do yet. I guess if someone just wants photos and won't be picky then I'd do that.

SO, if anyone knows someone who needs an amateur photographer, I'm ready! At this time, I'm only taking unlimited shots for a reasonable price, editing and putting them on cd and the client can print out whatever they would like at a place like Meijer, Walmart (I used to work at the one in Okemos and I know they do fabulous prints!) or a place of the client's choice.

The facebook page is located at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Natural-Charm/141240265956862#!/

In other news, we lost another pullet today. Definitely heat related. Crazy BO has refused to go outside since I got it at FFH in March. We have even taken it outside but it always ran back in. Yesterday she was panting like crazy and always going underneath the long laying box. We had the fan blowing in there and I lightly misted her but she just wouldn't come out. This morning Aric found her underneath the laying box dead. Grrr.

All the rest are doing well. I didn't go outside at all today because it was too dangerous for me, even for 5 minutes, but I had Aric and Angellica go out there every hour to check on them, spray them or the runs down and throw them some frozen fruit. The frozen water bottles seem to be a hit for them to lay on too.

Rumor has it the next door neighbor is fencing in his 3 acres behind us. He said he's probably gonna put goats on some of it and not sure about the rest. He said we can free range our ducks or chickens out there. Now that made my day! Goats are my favorite animal, I raised them and pigs since I was 4! He said it's his retirement gift to all of us! I love our neighbor! lol

I wish! We heat our house with a pellet stove. Half the winter it's kinda expensive because it's not always on sale. But this is an all brick house that was supposed to be a garage 60 years ago but over the years it's been added on and became a house. There are no vents so pellets and cherry pits are the way to go. I'd love to have a multi burner so we can burn wood and pellets but those are sooo expensive!

So I saw a headline yesterday when I was passing the newspaper machine. "Mail 3 days a week?" it seems the USPS is showing a huge loss this fiscal year. (I believe it said 2-3 BILLION) Don't see how they would be down that much that much money. I didn't buy a paper (no change on me) so now it just leaves me to wonder the effects of the header & sub header on the artical.

But think if this happens (3 days a week mail comes)- how will that affect shipping chicks or eggs?

Yesterday I put a ad in Craig's list for the 4 barnyard chicks...FREE. I felt bad about taking them away from their mama so offered the pullet for $5.00 with them...a great deal since she is a good layer. I got 3 calls within an hour of posting ! The chicks were so fast and found 4 spots to slip out through when I went to get them for the buyer. It took 3 of us over a half hour to catch the rascals...we were sweating and exhausted by the time the buyer left with mama and chicks. I hope the heat and running around didn't hurt them...they had a 40 minute trip to Traverse to their new home.

Baby..your coop set up looks fantastic.

Also...the red potatoes and glass of wine sounded great. I make a big breakfast and lunch for hubby and myself and then the kitchen is closed and I'm off duty. DH makes a salad most nights and I have cheese and crackers or cereal! We think of it as eating like a King for breakfast, a prince for lunch and a pauper for dinner. Good for digestion and better still for the head cook of the house.
