Never be a fan of big cities. My youngest son lived in the French Quarter of New Orleans for a couple of years. Unique, beautiful historic place with lots of great places to eat. Just don't be there after the sun goes down. Real scary. I been in the Canadian tiaga with wolves howling at night, and even a bear scratching on the wall of our tent. I felt much safer there.
I glad that most of the snow was gone before it started in again. Got one inch last night and they say we might get three more before this is done. This is getting real old.

Good morning ya all. Steve I am so glad you and your son are safe, I just can't imagine a big city and I really don't want to. Give me my nice little safe dot on the map any day.

I am soooooooooo eggcited today it the first rummage sale of the year. The dog pound puts 2 on a year and I am soooooooo there. I am up early so I can let the 8 little imps play for an hour before we leave. I have 2 of my sisters that go as well. Good times LOL. Yes I know it sounds crazy but for me it is the little things LOL.

Opa glad that most of your snow is gone, we never got bare ground here where I am. I wanted it but didn't get it.

Stay safe you all.

Good morning.

Thanks for the thoughts about our safety. It still has my blood boiling some con game got played. It almost feels like you got violated in a way. Told my wife, "see why I stay outta the big city" I am quite content living in hickville or Chartucky as we like to call it. There are a couple parts of Lansing I am not going to when it's not daylight, sad isn't it.

Wifes uncle is in Beaumont hospital in (Detroit ?) so instead of dinner and a movie for Valentines day we are going to see him. I asked my son to take care of the animals while we are gone, not much to do really but it makes me feel better just saying it to him.

We got a blanket of the snowy crud out there this morning I see. Ya'll stay warm.

Wow Steve, glad you guys are ok. Scary stuff.

We got a couple of fresh inches of snow here...yuck. The chickens are going to be mad, they were just getting used to running all over the yard again. Oh well, just a couple of weeks to go, right?

Grammi-Have fun with your grandkids! That is very sweet of you to take them overnight for their parents! I bet the kids love it! My Mom does that once in a while and the kids and I both feel better after a break from each other. Have fun!

I have to go the mall with Big Russ today...yuck! I hate the mall! He has to exchange tools at Sears, he is a mechanic and breaks them regularly. At least there is a TSC on the way. I think I am going to get supplies to build a new rabbit hutch. Something fun to work on since its ugly outside.

Thank Goodness your son is safe, Steve. How scary. You are right, it does feel like you are violated- felt the same way when someone stole my purse, violated...it could have gone alot worse, though, so glad that it didn't and he is okay. My stepdaughter applied for a counseling job in Lansing- and when she asked at the college campus for directions to the place that was hiring, the woman security guard looked her up and down then said, "I'm not telling you how to get there. i don't want to feel responsible if something happens to you there".

Steve, when you are going to the hospital and drive through Taylor onI- 94 (the big blue arches)- wave. You will be passing by my area. Be careful in Detroit- don't want another scary story when you get back.

Happy Valentines Day everyone. Snow outside and LOUD hens. They are mad mad mad today. I don't blame them.

Nasty stuff isn't it?

I just came in from "morning chores" had to stop on my way to the house and look at all the beauty that surrounds us....the snowflakes gently coming down from the sky, the slight breeze, and the quietness in the morning air.....and thought, wouldn't this be a wonderful Christmas morning?

Then realized christmas was months ago, a few days ago it was warm and no snow......and muttered under my breath as I trudged the rest of the way to the house.....this weather sucks!

I had to laugh... when I opened up my coop this morning, my barred rock came out and immediately went to the extra dog house I keep for shelter for them and where I feed them if the weather is bad in the daytime. My head hen walked out of the coop, looked around, went back to where the other ladies are still rooster and gave a very obvious, long, sad complaining report... Her hind end was sticking out of the door, bobbing away while she went on and on...They are hilarious!
