Mom hope you find a way to rise above. I know depression all too well. It's one ugly evil monster that has managed to stay hidden in my own depths for a long long time without being exercised OUT.

Yes, I have 2 beautiful Buff Chantecler roosters, roughly 16 weeks, at least one needs rehoming. Pics on myPage. Nice birds, handfed. I got them free and will give one or both away free to good home. Not that I don't like them, I really really DO, but I do not want to get in the baby chick business, just eggs for now.

thanks folks - I have a lot to learn about all this, so...thanks for going slow.

I think my wife wants to make a coop - but depending on whatever other 10000 things we'll need to do at the "new" house, might go ahead and buy/modify.

WOW, poor thing! That's why I'm glad I got my rabbits from Vicki (one of course thanks to you know who!) because I know everything I've gotten from her has been really good! I am also guilty of the picking up pets when depressed. I've done it many times. I hope the poor rabbit gets some help and discovers a much better home with you!!

I live in Clay Township which is about 30 miles from Armada. I go to the Armada Grain Co. to get my scratch, oyster shell, and they also carry DE for a good price. You'll love the company here, lots of good people. If you are in the market for a nice rooster I may have one for you when you're ready!

I'd be more concerned about the run....hmmmmmmmmm

lol- I was looking for several dog runs/kennels (the new house does not have a fence & the dogs need a area to run in til we can agree on what type of fence) and ran across this- I'm not looking for a coop- just couldn't see how you could fit 40 chickens in this. Maybe if some live in the run & some live in the coop..... and the rest free range the yard.....

I always have a good giggle when I see math like this. Maybe they're stacking them... And it only has 4 nest boxes which would mean 10 hens per nest. When all 4 of mine are laying I have to have 2 boxes or I get eggs on the floor next to the box.
