hi all- seems everybody busy working. My new rescue corgi is fitting in well. He's the only one who fits on the back of the couch to watch out the window. I'll try and post a late weather report at 12am when I get home from wk for the morning people. (bet it nasty). Do those of you making bread use the dump in mix rise machine or do it all by hand?

CHARLOTTE CHICK DAYS 2009

I stopped at the Farm Bureau Elevator to get some hog feed and they handed me their chick day schedule & prices. They get their stuff from Townline.

If anyone is interested I will post details.

.....and CindyP......I saw your Uncle Darrel (Joe) there. He said you were a good kid. Isn't it amazing as adults they still call us kids?

I just found some fainting goats very close to my house! Wait till Big Russ gets home and I ask him. What could be more fun than to watch the chickens and the fainting goats? Cross your fingers!

Yup, they would faint and the coyote, or whatever would kill the goat that fainted. The rest of the herd would have already run to safety. Now at my house I would only make them faint once in a while for a giggle.

Its terrible isn't it. You have to see it, it is soooo funny! The kids would love it. Hopefully I can convince big russ and we can giggle all the time!

I don't think fainting would be an evolutionary development. I had a wife once that used to faint and the coyotes never came and ate her...............

We have one. I won't let the kids "scare" her, because I think that is just mean, plus she was a bottle baby and doesn't get scared by people easily. However, when our one donkey tried to run her over, she fainted and fell right over.

When the geese went after her a few days ago, because she got to close to the girls and the gander is cranky because it is breeding season, she did a half faint!!

Their legs stiffen up. The adults can balance themselves so they don't always fall. They don't loose consciousness either, their legs just stiffen up.

I am also from Michigan just east of Frankenmuth. I have Buff Orpingtons Americaunas and Astralorps. I am getting a bunch of new breeds on April 9 woo hoo. I have 6 kids 5 boys and one girl they are all so excited. This winter was pretty hard on my flock, I had a couple of cases of frostbite. One of my roosters got it pretty bad.

Babsboys!! Your name caught my eye, I have a friend named Babette, not a very common name. Is that your name also? Or does your handle stand for something else? Either way, welcome to BYC and to our wonderful Michigan gang!! We are a chatty bunch, so pull up a chair, you may be here awhile!!
