Good Morning Again.

Tried to go to work, but apparently they don't want me there. Guess I'm still at home sick, wanting to be better.

Thanks for the condolences. Raigan was sad. Yes, Sunny was our only ISA. I'll need to go dig a nice hole so we can say our farewells and remember her.

Have a good day everyone, and eat some paczkis for me.

Oh, and a BIG WELCOME to any newbies that have joined us.

BTW - how do you do that "Welcome to BYC" smily???

Moring all!! Derek, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. I told you to take it easy....it takes awhile to get your stength back. Work will be there when you're ready.
It's cold out there, but sunny and no wind. Chickens are out and enjoying the sun. You all have a great day!!

Morning folks!

Had to take the dogs to the vet for their rabies shots. Doc is a old family friend and lives less than a mile from me, so the shots don't take long....it's the visiting that does. Worth every minute though.

Yeah it is cold, even the nostrils hurt to breath, like they freeze inside or something. Supposed to warm up.....if it does I hope to get most of the siding done on the henhouse. Doc asked me what I was building... "a henhouse?" he says. Funny he knew by driving by....he commented on the style. Reminded him of the ones he saw growing up so apparently there were some of these in the neighborhood.

Derek hope you get over the crud, it's no fun.

And the 1500 calorie sugar bombs?.....no more I told Judy I wasn't touching another one. Neither of us knew how many calories were in those. Personal favorite was the apple.

Good Morning!

Like that shovel MJ!
I've been known to take out a few with pitchforks before, but never a shovel. On of my "tramatic" childhood memories was of going into the henhouse one day only to see grey fur curled up in a nesting box. On our farm we had a rule that if any of our cats were caught snitching eggs they were gone. That pile of grey fur happened to be the exact same color as my favorite momma kitty. There was no way I was going to let her get caught and without thinking I reached right in and grabbed her only to find out very quickly that it was not momma kitty, and it did not "play dead"! That led to me running up to the house to get mom......long story short we ended up with a hole in the back up the coop when mom tried to shoot (and missed) the possum.

We stuck with pitch forks after that.

I've walked in the coop thinking that a skunk sleeping was our cat! I realized it before I touched it and it woke up!

Good Morning all...it was so cold it did hurt to breathe at 6am.

A few more weeks and spring will be here....cannot wait!

Off to check the kids doing their math.

Steve, paczkis are a pre-lenten treat. Their purpose originally was to use up all of the things forbidden by lenten tradition and requirements. It was so these items would not be thrown away and wasted. Since they are a part of religious ceremony God does not allow the calories to count.
