Of course, it looks similar to my Dh's now, so that may be why!!

He has often said he wants to shave his, I won't let him!! I like full beards too, but his is very scraggly, so he won't grow it out.

Well I think today is going to be nice enough that the welsummers are going back into their coop. Heck we only have another six weeks to put up with possible snow fall that practically spring in my book.

Morning-
You guys were very silly last night. Gave me a good giggle this morning. It is much better out this morning than it was yesterday. Still chilly, but better.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Oh ya, anyone close by have some buff orpington hatching eggs?

Morning all

DCM in the bator I have orpington and orpington/black copper mixes after they hatch I need to rehome all but one. If you would like some you can have a pick of the hatch after I pick mine. Sorry I know that dose not help your need to hatch something. How about some dark brahma I will buy a chick from you if you hatch them. They are great winter layers

Morning all welcome to all the newbies glad ya found the MI thread this sure is a nice family place to relax.

I do the egg carton and love it, the eggs don't get rolled around as much less chance of drowning the later to hatch chicks. But everyone is different. I find that air exchange gets low as they hatch and if I raise my bators up a little ways (I use small pieces of 2 x 4's) the air exchange is better and they don't vac seal in the shells. If you do this don't place them under the bator to block those small holes.

Glad to hear the test results are good. Been praying hard for you here. Great news on trying a little longer with your dog, I always tell people making this decission to pick 3 things that are quality of life for your pet. When they can't do those 3 things then it is time to let go. Hope that helps you.

I have a ? my chicks that were born the end of Jan are getting big. They all had nice straight normal toes. Yesterday one foot on one of the chicks the toes twisted, what would cause this and how would I treat that. This twisting happened over night one night fine next morning twisted. Thanks for any and all help.

Morning, Jean! Could your chicks leg have been caught in anything? You might want to look and see if there is anything, even a long human hair wrapped around it. I had that happen with a canary once. I saw that the claw was all bunched up funny and when I put it in the light I finally saw what it was. A thread from a towel, etc...

Hey Crystal, if you don't mind me asking, what school district do you live in?

DH and I are house hunting, and having a heck of a time finding anything zoned for chickens.

We are looking in the Caledonia area at the moment.

Crystal, want me to write you an excuse note?

i just swept the floors and did dishes. got a pot with the makings for chicken soup going. off to do some dust mopping and laundry.

i think that there should be disposable clothes. if they could be useful in a compost pile, that would be awesome.

Darn, I was hoping you had some secret I didn't know about.

We found a cute little place on one acre the other day, but it's zoned R-2...no chickens.

Across the street, though, it's R-1 and AGR. They can have as many chickens as they want.
