Don't feel alone. I was reading your post and as soon as I read what you put, "freeze your eggs give yourself time" I thought: "OH! Im going to do this, and save the fertile eggs from my girls for when the rooster is gone..." then of course, I finished reading your post...
*sigh*
At least we are entertaining. hahahahaha.
Im sitting here listening to my crow-boy now, and realized that tonight is his last night with the ladies. I hope they havent forgotten their own common sense. He is very good at alerting them to any hawk/other threats and showing them where the goodies are...and making sure they all go in to roost when its time. (with the exception of the scatterbrain sisters). I dont know how they will act once they are divorced.
I candled eggs under my broodies last night. It looks like less than a week for the one girls, and Im not sure how long for the others. The temps have really dropped. I sure hope the one with the least amount of time to go doesnt decide to just get up and quit now. I just turned their Christmas lights on. "It's Spring...really."
