Ok... OLIVE! How much provisol do I give a chicken? I mentioned yesterday I think about Aster, my evil hen... She's definitely got wry neck... She's sitting on eggs. I can get her to eat, but she attacks my hand too! Lol. Poor girl. So I think I will put it in water for her with some electrolytes. Anyway, I figured you'd know. Lol.

Sorry, Nova. Just checking in. Looks like you've already treated her? I wouldn't have been much help anyway; don't think I've ever heard of provisol. Is that a brand name? What's the active ingredient?

As one ages their head gets filled with all sorts of information of little or questionable value that they feel they must share before they forget everything. For instance, are you aware that we have a Shakespeare devotee to thank for the English sparrows and starlings we have. His plan was to stock New York's Central Park with every bird and animal mentioned by William Shakespeare. OMG, I'm sharing worthless information. I must be getting something, I just can't remember what.

on second thought maybe it is a good thing I don't. NO SELF-CONTROL

These little ones just hatched yesterday. They are oh so cute. One is a cuckoo marans, one is a cuckoo x blue marans, and one is lakenvelder x andalusion. I tried with my new incubator with a turner in it and couldn't hardly hatch squat. First time 1 out of 31, second time 2 out of 24. Hubby set these ones, 18 of them, in an ANCIENT incubator made by Sears & Roebuck many many years ago and already has 3 hatched and still hatching.

Ok, so, I took care of Evilrella. I gave her 3 drops on a small piece of bread that was nice and soft. I even got very brave to actually get my hands in there and took her out of the nest box. I have bruises... CHICKEN HICKIES! Well anyway, she had 9 eggs under her. I took out the 4 wyandotte eggs and left her 4. I then put a block up so the other girls can not get in there with her. They are just going to have to resign themselves to using the other nest box. Lol. The 2 favorite nest boxes or occupied. I put water in with her and food. When I took her out of the nest box, she screeched at me like I was killing her. Lol. My hands wanted too. Lol.

I broke it getting her out of the nest box. Oops. But the others enjoyed nice hot raw egg!

Taprock.....This will be my first Chickenstock and I'm bringing my kids & DH. I want them to meet all the wonderful people who's knowledge, friendliness and expertise keep me glued to my computer whenever I have a free moment! Of course I want to met you all too!! As for chicken talk all day, my family is use too it.

Hmmmm...... Ladies..... I'm waiting for a smart reply back to Raz for his comment about married hens. I don't know him well enough to dish it back!!
