Yes! Got 7 eggs today! That's the highest it's been in quite awhile. One of my EE laid a huge egg, 2.9 oz.
Suppose to warm up again. Mixed feelings on that. The two hawks are still hanging around. I won't be able to let my chickens out to free range until they move on.

Okay, on the desk top PC I can see all the coop options.

Also, all kinds of smilies! Even more than on the old BYC!

And WYSIWYG. Somehow don't miss the BBCode at all. (I know, I know if I were tech savvy I'd be able to write BBCode as fast as I could think it. But I think I have demonstrated that that is not the reality).

Next I'll have to try downloading the TapaTalk app. Thanks, Mom2 for the link to the iPad/mobile device thread. Seems to be mixed reviews but a lot of people say their iPad, Android phone, iPhone, etc works better on BYC using that app. Up here in the South Wing, it's not nearly so comfy as sitting at the kitchen table with my little iPad. (Plus, DH has to sit 12 inches away and play his very loud XBox game the way the "office" room is set up). (Plus he'll be wanting to get on the computer any time now no doubt). With the iPad, I get to sit down and share some nice meals with my BYC pals, besides.

(Thought I'd better make use of the smilies while I can...)

OK, while I'm up here, gonna try the picture uploading dealywhick. This six feet of space surrounding myself is much more likely to contain the legendary cable than where I was sitting before while I pretended to look for it.

Hope is just finishing up a quilt that she has been working on for several years and later this week she wants me to list it on E-Bay.


It measures 80x96" and is made up of 525 blocks (1050 pieces of material)



I thought I'd post it here to show it off plus see if anyone might be interested in it before I list it. She is asking far less than many others I have seen listed.

Tell her the quilt is absolutely beautiful!! Don't cut yourself short on price......all her time & skill is worth every penny you ask for. Who ever buys it will surely be pleased!

That quilt is absolutely beautiful! There is obviously a lot of work in it and I think Hope should ask for top dollar to start with. She can always negotiate down.

I guess that was a long way of saying - is there any other banties from Gravy's old flock who could join her?

That's gorgeous, Opa! I can't believe she wants to sell it. I made a Cathedral Windows table runner and that was enough work, never mind a cathedral windows quilt. Tell her to ask a good price for it. She deserves to profit from such incredible work.

What a lovely quilt Opa - Hope!

Nugget and Gravy came from 1muttsfan, back a few months ago when she was looking to rehome them. I forget the details of the trade.

On an up note, Gravy is once again in the prime roost spot and she was nestled in next to Extra Crispy, my hefty BO. All the girls turned in early tonight.

Ive got extra mutants- you can have a couple of them, quarantine them, and then they will be big enough to join your banty.

you can wait and see what hatches from these silkie eggs.

Regardless, I think that even if a newcomer came from the same flock as your others- after any amount of time, another quarantine would be needed...

My babies are still stuck to Mom like glue- and they are what? five weeks old now? I figure they will ride out the winter under Moms feathers. She hasnt taken them out into the elements yet- they were peeking out at the snow today. None seemed very enthused.
