Wish I had the time to catch up today.

Had a huge Ash tree cut down Friday. Unfortunately the ash borer got the best of the tree and it died

, before we bought the place. On a good note, we have quite a bit of wood to burn in the fireplace!

Just wanted to say hello, and hope all is well with everyone. I'm off to move / stack wood.

Mom2......your frizzle is a darling little puff! The feathers though, do they break off? The book made it sound like they were hard to keep and did say they were good mothers. My DD fell in love with the pic, wait til I show her yours. Might have to get one!
Plus this thread is so hard to keep up on....is your little Beepers one of hers?

Yeah- the duck that I had and then the rooster played havoc on her feathers. If nothing is messing with her, they seem to do fine.
Beeper could be hers- but she wasnt really laying eggs yet, so its doubtful. She was raising up the fruitloops.
Beeper, I believe, is from the sizzle's egg. Because a sizzle is a cross of frizzle and silkie, it only makes sense that the frizzly factor could come from her. IF we all agree that Beeper is frizzle. lol.

M. Sue-

I cant recall who we got her and her sister from at Chickenstock two years ago- but my daughters had twins, and loved them. Unfortunately, one of them found the duck pond- and the outcome was not good.

Perhaps this year, they will have more.

I had a frizzle white one hatch out of some eggs before . He was very cool looking. Roo though...

I'd like to get her one since Dusty our Bantam Roo was hers and she no longer likes him since he bullied her this summer and then later this fall had her pinned behind the pen door trying to show his dominance! She is hesitant to be with the chickens if he is abound. If your memory recalls you before Chickenstock as to who they were please let me know. I might even see if Chickendales has any & if they will be @ Chickenstock. My DH is gonna kill me if he has to build another coop or put me in the coop! lol

DUCKS! DUCKS! HERE DUCKY DUCKY DUCKY!!!!

Oh, look! A pool party just for us!

We can't wait, lets get in now!

And then, they proceed to go in circles, flattened out as much as possible to get in as much water as possible. Weird little suckers.

Sorry the quality is so bad, but somedays my cell phone will take lovely pictures, other days, it takes super crappy pics. I don't get it. LOL. OH I know, its the 3 yr old cell phone. I totally refuse to get a new one while this one still works. ALSO, I am cheap. HAHAHA.

RaZ, believe it or not, I do not have any flour in the house... How is that possible? I don't bake anything. And IF I do decided to bake anything, if it requires more than 3 ingredients to make, I do not. LOL. I do know how to. I chose not to. I am not so sure thou that flour would have done it. Vanna took a good inch of skin off of her toe, Skinned it. I didn't have a stippend(?) pen. I did call Earlene next door and ask if they had something, but nope. SO, bandaging works. LOL. Just took as much effort anyway, AND the other chickies do not see open wound.

I went by lowes today just to look at the sheds... Does anyone have a resin shed? AND how well do/don't they work as coops? Its a 8x10 for 700 bucks! WITH A FLOOR! Vents on the peak too. Also have a lovely wood one for 900 that I REALLY liked... But I was looking at the construction, and I think I could possibly build it for 400. I should just convert the shed out back... get the stall mats to put down where the old chemicals were so the chickens can't get in it. There would be enough room then for both the meaties and the eggies. Decisions decisions. I think I would just like a coop I can take with me if I ever decided I need a more country house...

Anyway... off to make milk shakes.

Opa, you are not an oddity.

Youre just weird.

Totally kidding.

Sorta.

It only took me all day, but I finally caught up to where I left of last night! Was too busy shoveling what was left of the ice/snow off the deck and stairs out front. The guineas put in an appearance outside the coop today, too. Actually got up on a perch and had a glorious time screeching their heads off. Mrs Duck is still sitting on her eggs. And Mr Duck just looks perplexed.

Tomorrow I have to go to Alpena for groceries. Be gone all day with my neighbor. You guys will probably have snowed me under by then.
