That's just something... I wonder why he is so mean. However that being said, I witnessed Mr. Fluffers snatch my little Leila up and toss her one day. I whooped his butt all the way out of the garage, back to the big coop. Needless to say, he has not touched Leila since. But I will never put her in the coop with him. It is just her. The only one he does not like.

I got my little egg!
My little cochin banty laid her first egg yesterday evening / this morning! It is super small compared to the larges my easter eggers lay. At the far right is my pink egg :) The middle brown is my orpington, which is shorter but rounder.... ouch!

I am SO STRESSED out.
I posted a rant the other morning, which you all kindly did not respond to...was very effective in making me feel like a toddler in a time-out..but now...
I need help.
SOMETHING is screwing with my broody chickens.

I posted that the Show girl eggs were found on the ground in front of the rabbit cage (okay, and my attempt to lock Mom and eggs inside- that failed)...I stole her eggs, hopefully saved one of the two, and put them in the incubator. I replaced them with other eggs due on march 16th.
Now, my broody sizzle is in the coop..in the far back corner- perfect spot. Nobody even knows or cares she is there.
Well...today, cold crappy day..I just now got home to check their water, and on the ground, in front of the coop- a tiny little egg. So, small..nobody here lays an egg that small..the pigeons are male...hmmm...I picked it up, cold, dirty..and the end of it says, "DUC"..>

Its one of the duccle eggs from Theron, that has been under the Sizzle inside the coop...flash my glance to the pop-door and she is sitting there, looking quite stressed. I went around opened the door and lifted her up. There, scattered are three of the duccle eggs. Moved five feet from her nest in the corner.

Well, I picked the eggs up, put them back in her nest and lifted her up, put her on the nest and she got up and ran out of coop. I scooped up the eggs and put them in my incubator- including the cold dirty one.

SO...please help me decide who is tearing up my nests and kicking eggs out/disrupting my broodies? I have the four cockerel uggos, the three Polish fruitloops, the frizzle and the sizzle and two silkies...and two pigeons who are oblivious to everything. If I can figure out who it is, well...they have to leave. By stewpot or by new home, I dont care.
I am very stressed about it and have never had this problem...so what is new from last year to this year...
the Polish fruitloops and the Uggos.

This happened to me last year with my first batch of Muscovies, I put them back under mom and they were amazingly fine, but it was one of my hens. She would go in there, then there would be a duck V. chicken fight, duck always won but the eggs were tossed out of the nest. It's amazing any of them hatched. Happened a few times before I figured out the culprit then I locked their fuzzy little behind in the chicken tractor.

M2M,
Could it be something else? Rodent, cat, spider monkey or teen vandals?

I don't have a solution but I can listen and offer encouragement.

Feeling as poorly as I've been the task of dispatching and then processing a bird was more than I wanted to undertake. He is however, no longer with any other birds and next week he will be swimming with some dumplings. It really is a shame because he is a beautiful Salmon Favorolle.
Maybe I'll wait until next week to come and get that wood.
Just to give you more time to get to feeling better. It has nothing to do with trying to mooch dumpling leftovers.
