Really, I think we should wait until they fatten up, they will make a great stew at the MI meet up, what a great "dish to pass" Yummy!

man- is it squirrel season already? I am not looking forward to all the phone calls.
It is still winter, isnt it?

Spring babies arent so bad because we can release them, its the fall babies that linger over-winter.

I would rather do oppossums.

Hi everyone!

I'm excited today. The chicks are still doing very well. They are actually hanging out in the dressing room of my horse trailer right now. The boys spent almost an hour with them after they got home from school. I had to remind them that they were still babies and needed time to rest. Aidan (6yo) was not happy to leave his new best friends alone. He is already begging me to name them. Not an easy task because all six still look the same at this young age. They are starting to get accustomed to us, and are starting to enjoy the attention. There is one in particular that seems much calmer than the others and really like cuddle up in my hand.

Also, I did start on the new home tonight. I was shocked at how much scrap lumber I am finding laying around my place. Between a newer home and my horse barn projects there is more wood than I realized. The only negative is you use what you have, and I'm worried that I'm getting way to heavy. I am building a 4X4 hen house with legs. I will eventually add wheels, but need to make sure I can pull this around with the lawn tractor if needed. I finished the base/floor tonight, and got some of the 2X4's cut for the walls. Yea!!!

Won't be long and maybe I can figure out how to share some pictures.

Ellen

Glad you made it home safe and had fun with the grandkids.

Thanks, Steve. Those girls sure keep me running! No need to do the Wii tonight!
Sorry you are not feeling well, Shelley. Get better soon. Welcome newbie! Try and keep up with us. Sometimes it's not easy.

My corn furnace was making a weird sound so I got up to check it. The feed auger was out of fuel.

I am a very light sleeper and can tell by the noises in the house when something isn't just right. Kids hated it when they tried to "sneak" in at 3 am....they would get caught everytime.

Now I can't get back to sleep.

Morning All-

I'm about to take my shower and get ready for work. Just read all the threads I posted in yesterday here.

I discovered a large hole in my husbands Golden Retriever this morning. He will be going to work with me, getting stitched up. I have no idea what happened. its about three fingers big in his flank. Could have been from wrestling with my pit, or there is a metal broom handle sticking through the deck side- could have stabbed himself- or it could be from a stick out in the field..I have no idea. My husband knows though. He is convinced that it is from the broom handle, that someone didn't put away. He was yelling this morning that the laziness of this family is going to stop, and I will end up divorcing him before it is over. He was on such a kick, I didn't have the heart to tell him he was the last person to use the broom yesterday- when he swept off the deck.

Well Crystal,

We've had enough sleep...right? I will be getting ready for the phone calls...

HEY!
I managed to be in the right place at the right time last night, and won eight of Miss Prissys b/b/s orp eggs. How nice and generous of her yesterday!!

Soooo...that is ALL the room I have left in my incubators. Thats it. They ARE FULL- and I am gonna have to do the staggered hatch in the incubators.

Good morning!

Question, help, please!
I have a Serama pippng. In the night I got up to check on them and humidity had gone down to 55... Do you think that is going to hurt? I brought it back up to 60, right away.

CUTE Squirrels !!!!!

Oh no... poor dog! Sounds like the kind of tear my DH would spout off on... especially when it's his fault

Hope the DH calms down and the dog recovers.

I doubt that it will hurt that the humidity dropped.... it matters most when the humidity drops when the egg is open because it will cause the membrane to harden as it dries out. If you got it back up and it started pipping then, then it should be ok. Just keep an eye on it. 60% sounds a little low though... but I haven't hatched Seramas .... I usually try to get mine up to at least 65% ... but maybe those little guys don;t need as high?
