Yes I have noticed that Opa. Maybe that particular scent is easy to "capture" and concentrate into fragrances? Lily of the Valley is my other favorite...smells so wonderful and also makes a great perfume.

I think my bantam is trying to go broody. The last 2 days when I've gone out to the coop to collect, there she is, all puffy & sitiing on 3 or 4 large eggs. Tonight when I went to go lock up she was still sitting in the empty box. So up on the roost, way at the end she went. This was the same behavior last fall I got from her when she tried to get broody. She laid 6-7 maybe 8 eggs then I had to keep taking her out of the nest every time I found her in it on the others eggs. It only took a few days to break the habit so if this is the case hopefully it will be just as easy this time.

Hello and Welcome to ALL THE NEW COMERS!

Such busy chatters today!
We had freezing rain here earlier so ice was all over. Great way to start our journey.

Thankfully, the further south we went it got clearer. The rain held off for my uncle's funeral so we were glad for that. Was able to spend some time with family that I haven't seen in awhile so that was nice, too. It seems unfortunate, though, that it is usually under these circumstances that we do get to see each other since everyone lives so far away.
On the drive home, DH wanted to take the lake shore drive. It was nice, but took forever! 2 hours down and 5 hours back.

So tired!
Nova, I noticed all the tulips blooming downtown Holland. So pretty, but a shame because they won't last for Tulip Time. I even have one attempting to bloom in my yard.
As for lilacs, I have 2. They smell wonderful, but I wish the one in the front yard were in the back with the other.

Im just glad nobody is trying to defend Magnolia trees. If you have to mow around either one Ill take lilacs because at least the lilacs smell good.

I guess the fear of using an inverted table and not being able to swing back up right is common. DH just came in from running back to work for a few more hours. He showered and just announced to me....."I'm going downstairs to hang up side down...if I can't back up I'll call you! lol" Raz.... you're not alone!

I would rather roll naked in poison ivy than have a lilac in my yard. :tongue

Well if you have to...

I admit to being in the lilac loving school. I plant clematis at the base of the bushes, which climb up into the crown and bloom later in the summer.

I used to have an heirloom white lilac that was the most fragrant I have ever had. Left behind in one of my many moves.

Raz, rather roll around in poisin ivy? Well, at least you are honest......Sorry, I have to throw my hat to the lilac loving bunch too. That's when it finally feels like spring to me. Hyacenth scent is nice, but nothing beats a warm spring day when I can open all the Windows and let the strategically planted pocahontas lilacs planted on the south side fill the whole house with their intoxicating scent with the slightest breeze.:D
