Squirrels are rather acrobatic creatures and I would imagine being that active would lead to sore muscles and aching joints. I recently discovered how they are able to stay so agile. Sort of makes you jealous doesn't it Raz.

Yep, I'm jealous. The squirrels here just eat and don't do any chores

They also had a metal rooster statue that was big and I wanted it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad to put on my deck, and I wanted to buy one for RaZ too...but, it was fifty bucks...again, I had my husband with me, and he sure does know how to say NO. *sigh* I am going to look online for one now...
Same EXACT situation here with me 2 weeks ago. I pouted all day afterwards, kids had so much fun teasing me because I couldn't get the rooster. Well, I work hard for my money and deserve something for myself once in a while! I'm gonna go back and get it....but I'm sorta waiting for a sale or coupon through the mail. $ 50 is a lot but it would look so cool in my rock garden! Plus sorry about your little chick....always a bummer.

I think I can make sure both of those items appear at chickenstock

My mother had several planted in here back yard along the fence row and my ever so wonderful big brother worked them all up when we had the nice weather. He thought he was being helpful!

One of my speckled hens has herself all worked up over something today and has been bagawking out there all day! **** bird is about to get her beak taped shut!

I had one this afternoon that also felt the need to be a noise maker.....guess she felt the need to sing!

Well I just let the dog out without looking first and she took off after 3 deer that were eating out back. They'll be back but I really would of just liked to watch them a bit.

Is there such a thing as magnolias that grow in MI?

Im just glad nobody is trying to defend Magnolia trees. If you have to mow around either one Ill take lilacs because at least the lilacs smell good.

You want cattails? I can give you cattails, They're trying to take over my pond. Can't stand them. But don't try to remove 'em or the army corp of engineers may come and get you!

I feel the same way about the cat-tails that have come back up, despite Henry and the goosers decimating them last year. I may threaten to put a bear trap over them- just to remind my hubby that those are NOT where you want to put your foot.

I'll say, take a white glove to my house and you'll run away scared. But really, I've got better things to do than clean constantly. Like drink wine!

Clean houses are overrated. On the other hand, people should treat each other nicely, cause that makes life worth living.

For some reason those are one of the few memories I have my parent's first home. I was younger than 5 and I just remember them all over a hillside. I don't know if it was at their house or the next door neighbors, or what. I wonder if my older sister remembers? I just thought they were so pretty. I'd love to have some but would chickens try to eat them? I figure my pups are old enough to leave them alone.

So there is something magnolia like but not quite magnolia after all?

I'll pass on the magnolias we have here in Michigan, but the true huge white Southern Magnolias are breathtaking and the smell is heavenly. The ones we have here only last a week or two and then leave a mess. Sure love my honeysuckle though! I have a huge vine over the gate on my deck and when it's in bloom and the windows are all open the fragrance fills the whole house. I also love the smell of orange blossoms and mock orange.

Cold and dreary today. Other than chicken chores I'm staying inside. Got this in email today and thought it was funny and egg related.

Much nicer day up north today than yesterday, partly sunny, finally no wind, no freeze last night either. It reached 47 and I mucked out my chicken coop! Usually there is about 4 wheelbarrow loads to move but his time, maybe one. DH thinks it's because I had no chickens over the winter, I am sure that helped, 2 ducks and 5 guineas don't mess up a 6 x 8 coop quite as badly as adding another 10 birds to the mix, but I think the fact that they were free ranging till mid January and not hiding indoors all winter had something to do with it.

Sure seems nicer in there with all that fresh straw now. Now it just needs chickens. Oh goody, I've got a batch of chicks coming next week!

I have to thank you, Total Colour, I had been meaning to use a photo I took of my two girls and my new nephew last fall as inspiration for a painting ever since I took it, but never did seem to get around to it. After you posted your paintings I was motivated so I went and picked up the canvas today and got to work on it. :)

Delivered my parakeets to a perfectly lovely family.

They were very unhappy to be moved and I was very sad to leave them.

The new owners were delighted and I hope it helps my sons allergies.

WOW! I'm so glad I had that effect on someone. I hope that for you it's the same as for me - that whatever is going on around you, the painting work lets your mind and soul, soar.

Do you work in oils (That's my favourite)? Although sometimes I do pen and ink with washes.
