RaZ Sorry to hear about your Mom. Perhaps you could start with some part time in home care. That is what I have for DW and it is working well so far.

My Mom is stubborn, so I get that quality honestly. We live in separate houses just a few miles from each other but we are as different as good and evil. I'm the evil one in case you were wondering.

I suggested that we sell both houses and move to one place big enough for us both. Her reply was "I didn't move when your Father retired. I didn't move when he died. I'm not moving now". This puts me in an untenable position. Gives me something to think about, eh?

Broody hen finally got up to eat a bit today. I assume the warmer weather gave her a chance at it. She is sitting sooooo good. It is her first time keeping her eggs. The plan is to candle Tuesday. Crossing fingers.

Spring will come to you northern dwellers. I used to live in the Soo. I loved the summers up there.

Wow you all added alot to the conversation while I was gone!

Very cool new coop! Maybe I need to paint mine. You have me inspired. Well, only for a minute. I need to paint the kitchen. Or..I really just need to ponder painting everything. lol.

Guineas- sooooooooooo loud. Had two keets here for about a week. Gave them to my brother in law. They didnt last long, something got them but they were loud loud loud while they were around.

What do I do with extra banty roos? Someone asked me that. I give them to you all, of course.

Seriously though, I dunno. They are probably enough meat for one small meal for one small person. Alot of work for portion control.

Guess what! I have a son. Oh, we already knew that. Its hard to remember though, because since I tossed him out, he only contacts me when he needs something. Lately he has found himself on the wrong side of the law, and wont see the problem with that. I sent him this big ol' text message- his communication tool of choice- about good luck in court tomorrow, and Easter will be at my stepdaughters and he is welcome to come, blah blah blah...didnt hear a word. However, at nine o clock last night- his gf car was broke down and they were stranded. So, being the Mom I am. we went and rescued them.

I bought my daughters bicycles for Easter. They are so happy. Zoom and gone. They havent had bikes since they were little kids. Well, they HAVE, but they were all stolen, so I never replaced them- but now that they can have them, got them. I dont expect to see much of them this spring and summer now.

Today is my first day back to work from medical leave. I know I have been going to meetings upon meetings but today I will actually be working. Should be interesting. I could easily NOT work.

Yesterday while Granny was at church I got the ground compacted around the flag pole and then went to the store and picked up a good quality American flag to fly. She was absolutely thrilled to discover it flying when she came home. Such a simple act, yet so much joy.

Hope's step father lives 8 miles away and each day she takes him a prepared supper that all he must do is reheat. He refuses to use a micro wave to everything must be in a oven proof dish for reheating. Saturday when I took his meal to him he was complaining that he couldn't eat what she had fixed on Friday. He somehow neglected to turn the oven on so the pork chop and the potato were raw. Unfortunately he left it sitting on the counter so the pork had to be thrown out. Sunday he was complaining that Saturdays meal was burnt. It looks like we can't depend upon him to operate the stove/oven. Not really sure how much longer he is going to be capable of living alone but I am afraid the days are numbered.

Enough whining. It is going to be a great day. I will get a lot accomplished today which will make me quite happy, and should things occur that prevent me from doing so it still won't affect my happiness. There are no bad days, only bad attitudes. So enjoy your coffee, watch the sun come up,
and then go about making your own happy day.

Now I have a question for you men.

Why must you all- or maybe you don't...maybe its just my husband...hmmm, I should ask the WOMEN this question instead...

WHY does everything have to be so complicated?

I can say, oh we need new tile on the bathroom floor...it becomes a
"you cant just lie tile, you have to tear up the this, and fix this...add this..blah blah blah..."

"I want carpeting" becomes:
"you cant just put carpet down. We have to add a subfloor, and buy moulding for the walls, blah blah blah..."

Got new fence panels for the backyard.
Cant put them up...oh no. "gotta lay brick so the panels dont sink in the mud, we gotta get the load of dirt delivered and spread out there , buy something to attach fence panels, decide how we are going to do it, then we can put the fence up the right way...."

what that translates to- Those fence panels will sit outside in a stack until they are old and unusable.
The bathroom floor wont be replaced,
the kitchen will never have the cabinets repainted,
there will always be a hole in my kitchen ceiling..
I will never have carpet in my living room...

Seems to me, I have a lazy husband who will do anything and everything for anyone EXCEPT our own house.
