Stacykins-

My dog is pretty good about knowing four am is pee time, but there are many many days that he wakes me up at 3!
My alarm wasnt set today, because the kids dont have school, and I work nights. Sleeping in would have been nice. But Yogi's bladder KNOWS I was supposed to get up.
lol.

Four pips, one chick...

M. Sue-
I have always liked coloring eggs more than my kids have. I have no idea why. Perhaps because things seemed more special when i was a child than now, with my kids. Coloring eggs was new, was something different...no computer, no cable, heck, no microwave...definitely no cell phones with apps, and video games. So, perhaps I was easier to entertain because the choices were limited. Everything is SO much more graphic, more instant, more available for my kids that coloring eggs is "boring".

However for a three year old, it is absolutely the bestest gramma thing ever- cuz Gramma doesnt care if your hands end up purple or blue and Gramma doesnt care if the dye splashes..lol. My husband just said, "He comes over to be with YOU, mainly, not the rest of us and you wont even be here tonight."
Way to make me feel guilty- but I will be here tomorrow morning. Grammas can sleep some other time. :)

I plan on confusing him pretty badly. I am very excited to share the chicks hatching out of eggs with him. Then we are going to COLOR eggs...and then we are going to make deviled eggs...then Sunday, we are going to HUNT for eggs....ummmmm....hahahahaha...

I want to do this. What should I use for the eyes?

Just checked out my Theron chicks in the kitchen..they are three weeks? I would have to read back to my old posts to be sure.

Anyhow, one of the Mille duccles is sort of sneezing. Has a runny nose..um, runny nostril.

Ahhh....try raisins maybe, cut a tiny piece off.

You sound like a great grandma!! I love doing all that stuff with my kids & it saddens me that they are slowly growing out of it. We still do an egg hunt for I have several little ones over and the bigger kids just help the tiny ones. My mom has always been the cookie maker at the holidays with the kids and I would never have the heart to take job from her and the kids always have a blast. Like you, she's doesn't care if there's a mess. Don't care if frosting ends up on the floor or ceiling either. We use to leave a trail of carrots scattered all over the house & through the yard....Told them the Easter Bunny's must be in a big hurry! lol

HI everyone! It's been a while since I've been on, but I had some free time while the baby is sleeping (the one I was pregnant with at Chickenstock) and wanted to say HI to everyone. :) I'm going to try and read back a little to see what I've missed. :)

:: waves :: Hey You! I hope your are doing well :)

Ok....so I was wrong EExMarans cross decided to zip and hatch lickety split. I am trying to spy to see if the little one has feathered feet but the incubator got all steamed up. So that's TWO so far! My silkie is still hanging in the nest box today. I am going to move her to the brooding area and see if she stays there.

Good morning. I have a sunny day here and a swap meet in Wabasha MN tomorrow. Rule is I don't buy anything I have to cage or build a fence for. Hoping to find a white call duck hen, maybe a grey call drake to replace the one I recently culled. His mate is now setting so he may have ducklings on the way!

Just came back from the store...and I am frustrated.

The chicks waited until I was gone to hatch (two of them) one is from the showgirls...and one is from my own silkie.
Well, one has a naked neck and one does not. So, which is which? The silkie from the showgirls or from my silkie? Both had a naked neck gene...either one could have been from either. Regardless, I have Uggo offspring- I just dont know which one.

So far, three out.
