i have 2 pullets convinced to sleep in the summer coop... ONLY, I need to put another lower roost, or jump point. They can't quite make it up to the roost I put in... Now I just have to figure it out since the roost attached behind the windbreaks. GADS! I don't want to many things to have to rake around in there...

Roopert is doing better today. He's been laying down alot away from the other chickens... Until Fia came by him, then he got up and hauled it one footed after her trying to get some some. I swear, that poor hen. I need to get a saddle... She is the only one like that too. Poor baby.

My bathroom stinks. The paint fumes are like a seriously sticking your head in a dirty cat box. Yuck. I have never gotten bathroom mildew and mold resistant paint before. No wonder mold and mildew don't stick.... to dang stinky.

Mom... I wonder if there is some sort of correlation between temps and gender... Like they do with gators and crock you know... They want all girls, the incubate at one temp, and boys at another... Maybe you should try lowering it 1 degree, or raising it 1 degree and see what happens... Not that you need to hatch more chicks... but just an experiment... and document temps several times a day and see what happens...NOT THAT YOU NEED MORE.... Yes you do.

Opa, I enjoy seeing that nekkid chicken just about as much (little?) as seeing some people that way

Sadly most people nekkid are even less appealing than that chicken. At one point in my life I'm told that I looked pretty cute naked, but then I turned two and my moment was over.

Many many studies have been done to determine if temperature can affect gender, and all the research has proven that it doesn't. Hatcheries would be thrill if it did.

I just spent an hour on the phone with my friend who works for a big-shot law firm downtown. She is more worried about this than I am. I mean I'm taking it seriously but I'm not worried. Anyway, she gave me a couple of names to drop if need be.

If y'all don't hear from me tomorrow, that means that I've been jailed.

But I'll let everyone know what takes place.

Now that it is dark, I'm going out to move the bees to their new home. And to check that the hens are in the coop proper and not up in the rafters.
